In questo tour, esploriamo il vivace quartiere di Georgetown. Originariamente chiamata "Black Town", la zona si avvicinò alla fine del 1600 dopo la fondazione di Fort St. George. La gente del posto si stabilì qui per commerciare e fare affari con il forte. Una parte di Black Town è stata appiattita nel 1700, per fornire un'area all'aperto all'esterno di Fort St George. Gli abitanti di Blacktown si sono risistemati poco oltre l'area aperta, in quella che si chiamava New Black Town. A metà del 1800, l'area aperta (vecchia città nera) fu utilizzata per costruire il grande edificio della Corte di Madras. Nel 1910, quando King George visitò l'India, Blacktown fu ribattezzata Georgetown. Oggi Georgetown continua ad essere un'intensa area di mercato, vendendo tutto sotto il sole: braccialetti, tessuti, frutta, verdura, spezie, articoli di cancelleria, gioielli, ecc.

NOTHING....the meeting point as stated in the booking confirmation was changed...even a policeman did not know where the location was. The guide took me down 1 part of the market and then told me the rest would not be open...he then took me on a walk through parts of George town...parts of it was scary...at 1 point we went down stairs and under an isolated dingy and flooded bridge. As for the water and snacks that was part of the package...I recieved nothing...what a rip off
