In questo tour di un giorno da Chennai, visiteremo le meraviglie gemelle dell'architettura Pallava, Mahabalipuram e Kanchipuram. Questo tour è ospitato da un Five Senses Tours che è una società approvata dal ministero del turismo ed è anche membro della prestigiosa associazione indiana dei Tour Operator. Copriremo i magnifici templi di Ekambareswar e Kailashnath a Kanchipuram. Dopodiché visiteremo l'antico porto marittimo di Mahabalipuram e visiteremo le leggendarie strutture scavate nella roccia che si trovano nella penitenza di Arjuna, i Cinque Ratha e l'iconico tempio Shore che serviva letteralmente come faro per i marittimi dall'VIII secolo in poi. La società promuove il sostentamento locale formando e impiegando guide locali e patrocinando le imprese locali. Itinerario
Visitiamo Ekambareswarar della dinastia Pallava per apprezzare queste antiche meraviglie architettoniche. Questi sono stati costruiti nel 600 dC e sono magnifici esemplari dello stile architettonico di Pallava.
Visiteremo il magnifico tempio del Tempio di Kailasanathar dai tempi di Pallava. Kanchipuram era la capitale del regno medievale indiano meridionale di Pallavas. I Pallavas furono determinanti nel passaggio dall'architettura rock-cut ai templi di pietra. Apprezzeremo queste meraviglie architettoniche costruite nel 600 d.C.
Mahabalipuram è un'antica città ed era nota per essere una stazione commerciale durante il periodo romano. È salito alla ribalta come un vivace porto marittimo durante il dominio della dinastia Pallava con sede a Kanchipuram durante il VII secolo d.C. Le navi che partivano dal sud dell'India verso il sud-est asiatico erano solite partire dal porto di Mahabalipuram. Panch Rathas, oi 5 carri sono la nostra prima destinazione. Si tratta di strutture di templi monoliti scavate nella roccia dedicate a Draupadi e ai 5 Pandavas dell'epico Mahabharata.
Visitiamo anche la penitenza di Arjuna, un bassorilievo di 100 piedi x 45 piedi in cui è stato scolpito un intero capolavoro dall'epica di Mahabharata.
La prossima fermata è al Butterball di Krishna, una curiosa visione di un masso a forma di palla di 5 metri di diametro che è arroccato precariamente su un pendio e sfida le leggi di gravità di Newton!
Il leggendario Marco Polo si riferiva a Mahabalipuram come la città di 7 pagode. Il tempio della riva è l'unico di quei magnifici 7 templi, che sono sopravvissuti alle ingiurie del tempo. Il magnifico Shore Temple ci chiama. Questo tempio strutturale dell'ottavo secolo è realizzato in granito e fungeva da faro per i marinai del tempo.

Tour Guide Jainath and driver Mahendran arrived early to Hotel with a comfortable AC transport Car. Tour Guide extremely Knowledgeable of Historical Sites and was able to properly answer all questions I had. Driver was safe. I would Highly recommended tour if short on time and want a grand experience of Ancient Temples. Great Value and a wonderful lunch was included….. Two Thumbs Up
An absolutely wonderful experience with Hareesh guiding me all day through many temples and historical sites. My first day ever in India became a day to remember with the insights, friendliness, and warmth of a guide who truly loves what he is doing. Super exciting sights, excellent lunch, and knowledge of Indian history and religion to the fullest.

We had an excellent day exploring these two amazing places with Jainath and his local guides. Both were knowledgeable and passionate about the history. There was time to examine each place and appreciate the history and culture in them. Highly recommended the day. The driver was excellent as well, getting us between sites in the busy traffic. The trip could be improved by using a larger more comfortable car for such a long day.
Five Senses is a great tour company putting focus on the local community. Our guide Jainath was very knowledgeable and friendly and we had a very good time! Not only he showed us the wonders of Kanchipuram and neighborhood town Mahabalipuram, but also got us in touch with the local people who take pride in their work and culture. We also learnt a lot about eating manners to have during a wedding (we are attending one in 2 days). Overall we got a great impression lf history, architecture and culture in only one day!! Highly recommended.
We had a great time with our guide Jainath. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a good feeling for the South Indian culture and his eye for architecture was impeccable. He even invited us for a quick coffee and breakfast!
