We did the Experience Beijing Walking Food Tour Private with Richard, and it was absolutely one of the highlights of our time in Beijing. Most importantly, the food we ate on this tour was the best food we had during our entire trip to China—and we ate a LOT of great food! Richard really knows his stuff. He knows exactly where to go, what to order, and where to find the places you would probably never discover on your own. We loved getting away from the more touristy dining experiences and trying fantastic local food at places that felt authentic and genuinely special. Richard was knowledgeable, personable, and clearly knows Beijing's food scene inside and out. He explained what we were eating, introduced us to different dishes and flavors, and made the whole experience fun and comfortable. If you're going to Beijing and you love food, take this tour—and ask for Richard! Come hungry, because you'll eat incredibly well. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Hands down, our favorite food experience in China.

This tour is a must! Richard was absolutely wonderful and the food was amazing. He spoke very good English and paid attention to the details. We visited various restaurants serving popular local dishes that were superb. If you get the opportunity you must take it. One World! One Heart!

We had a great time with Richard as our guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and we got so much food. Come very hungry, and you will probably still take food home. My sister and I went together and she had actually done a calligraphy class with Richard a year ago when she was in Beijing. Next time we’re in town we’ll reach out to Richard for another tour.

Last year I was in Beijing and did the water color and calligraphy classes with Richard and had a great time. This year I’m back in Beijing with my sister who booked this food tour, when meeting our guide I was surprised to find that it was Richard from last year. Such a small world, we got to catch up and reminisce on photos from last year. I met him on my first day in China in 2025 and I’m ending my last day here in 2026 on another lovely tour led by him. If you book this tour be prepared to eat a lot of food and maybe even bring some home. Excellent dishes and spots to eat. We are full and happy.

Get off the central busy streets and try some amazing dishes that are filled w love. We came hungry and left stuffed. Richard has great energy and makes your experience wonderful
