Raymundo is a great guide and instructor. He is very patient, explains everything clearly, and continuously encourages me as I struggled to climb. In the end, I managed to complete all three paths. Great experience, would definitely do again!
I feel so lucky that I found Raymundo when searching the internet for a climbing guide in Oaxaca. My 14-year-old and I are novices but my teen really wanted to try outdoor climbing while we were in Oaxaca. Raymundo was flexible about scheduling when the times on TripAdvisor didn’t work with our schedule and also when an injury meant we had to delay our climb by a week. Raymundo is a licensed and certified guide and really made us feel safe despite our lack of experience. And, when my teen froze up at the top of their first climb, Raymundo was so patient and reassuring and eventually even climbed up to meet them and reassure them through the descent. Fun fact: Raymundo is actually a surgeon who works as a climbing guide on the side.
Very knowledgeable guide, excellent service, and most importantly, super fun! Raymundo went out of his way to make sure I got to my hostel safe and sound, and made it an awesome experience the whole time. 10/10, would recommend to anyone interested in climbing.
I had a great time climbing with Raymundo. I have limited outdoor climbing experience and Raymundo was very helpful with refreshing my knowledge of the basics of knot tying and repelling, making for a safe experience. We went to a crag 10 minutes from Oaxaca City which had beautiful views and - most importantly - fun climbing. If you’re looking for a fun day of exploring outside of Oaxaca City, I’d highly recommend one of Raymundo’s experiences!
We had an amazing time climbing with Raymond! As beginners, we appreciated his clear guidance, encouragement, and patience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good guide for rock climbing, hiking, or mountaineering. His brother took photos of us and they turned out so cool! A great experience all around.
Raymundo is an experienced and versatile guide. His English is amazing and he is able to adapt the expert to all levels including beginners. We came in a group of 5 Americans with almost no climbing experience and this was one of our favorite things to do in Oaxaca.
