Plaza San Juan de Dios, con le sue affascinanti strade acciottolate e i suoi dintorni pittoreschi, racchiude una ricca storia che risale a secoli fa e funge da vivace centro per incontri sociali ed eventi culturali a Cadice.
Durante il tour, avrai la possibilità di vedere uno straordinario capolavoro architettonico affacciato sul mare, simbolo del ricco patrimonio e del significato religioso della città, che affascina i visitatori con il suo design intricato e secoli di storia.
Il Teatro Romano di Cadice è un'antica struttura a Cadice, in Andalusia, nel sud della Spagna. I resti (solo parzialmente scavati) furono scoperti nel 1980. Il teatro, costruito probabilmente nel I secolo a.C. e uno dei più grandi mai costruiti nell'Impero Romano, fu abbandonato nel IV secolo e, nel XIII secolo, sulle sue rovine fu costruita una fortezza per ordine del re Alfonso X di Castiglia.
Secondo la tradizione classica, su quest'isola nei tempi antichi si trovava il tempio fenicio di Moloch/Kronos. Su questa piccola isola si trova il Castello di San Sebastián, che prese il nome da una cappella costruita nel 1457 dall'equipaggio di una nave veneziana, che ottenne il permesso di fermarsi in questo luogo per curare la peste che li aveva colpiti. I veneziani, per costruire questo tempio, utilizzarono i resti di un vecchio faro, sostituito nel 1613 da una torre di avvistamento, che oltre a servire da guida per i naviganti aveva funzioni difensive. Il faro venne ricostruito nel XVIII secolo e nel 1908 fu sostituito dall'attuale struttura. Questo castello è collegato con un ponte in mezzo all'oceano dove si può passeggiare e contemplare le onde
La nostra guida camminerà con te lungo la spiaggia di La Caleta, con le sue sabbie dorate e acque calme, La caleta è un'oasi tranquilla incastonata tra i monumenti storici di Cadice.
Il castello rappresenta un importante esempio di architettura militare dell'età moderna ed è giunto fino ai giorni nostri senza grandi modifiche. Presenta una pianta a stella con due fronti ben definiti: uno formato da bastioni triangolari che poggiano sulla spiaggia e l'altro aperto verso la città, dove si trova l'unica porta del recinto, protetta da due bastioni e da un fossato, che regolavano il livello dell'acqua attraverso chiuse. Un ponte di accesso alla semplice porta, protetta da un corpo di guardia superiore, sotto il quale è posta una targa commemorativa che ricorda la conclusione dei lavori, durante il regno di Filippo II.
Parqe Genoves è un parco botanico situato accanto alla facoltà di Filosofia dell'Università di Cadice La guida locale ti mostrerà il giardino che contiene più di 60 tipi di piante provenienti da tutto il mondo e ti spiegherà anche la storia di questo parco.
Questo viale si trova sul muro vicino alla baia ed è uno dei luoghi più frequentati della città sin dal XVII secolo. Nel corso della storia ha subito diversi rifacimenti, ma quello che gli ha dato l’aspetto attuale è stato effettuato nel 1926. Segue il gusto eclettico del regionalismo e mette in risalto la distribuzione di una variegata successione di stanze, decorate con ceramiche sivigliane ed elementi in ferro battuto che non impediscono di godere della vista sul mare.
Il Monumento alla Costituzione del 1812 è un monumento a Cadice, in Spagna, che commemora il centenario della firma della Costituzione del 1812. Il monumento, commissionato nel 1912 e completato nel 1929, si trova al centro di Plaza de España a Cadice .
Le mura di San Carlos si trovano, rialzate in riva al mare, vicino a Plaza España, nel centro storico di Cadice. La sua costruzione fu completata nel 1784 dall'ingegnere militare Antonio Hurtado. Questo bastione poteva ospitare 90 pezzi di artiglieria e conteneva 55 volte per usi diversi. In alcune di queste cripte furono costruiti dei pozzi per immagazzinare la neve portata dalle montagne di Cadice.

“We did the walking food tour with Ali, it was wonderful , his knowledge of Cádiz really brought the city to life. The meeting point was easy to find and everything was very well organised from the start. Cádiz is an absolutely beautiful city, and thanks to Ali we discovered so many hidden gems and local spots that we would never have found on our own. Our meal at the end of the tour was quite delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the time spent with Ali in Cadiz and would highly recommend

Luis made us feel like we were one of the locals! He was not rushed, and very informative. He took the time to answer lots of questions and cater our tour the needs of our group. Our group ranged in age from 20s to 60 and everyone loved him. The feast at the end of tour was delicious. A wonderful memory!

Viator relies on local suppliers and promises you anything just to sell you the service, but unfortunately, the local supplier is not able to follow through! I had requested a guide in Italian and a full dinner; the issue with the Italian language emerged before the experience because I was contacted by the guide in English... there was no way to resolve the issue, so we had a tour partly in English and partly in Spanish. The disaster was the arrival at the 'restaurant': the guide who was with us was attacked because we were late; they even said in front of us that they would no longer be able to apply the agreed 30% discount. After this embarrassing situation, we sat down and were told that we could only order tapas! We spent €120 each for a few hours of walking tour and a couple of tapas... I had organized everything myself to surprise a friend who was celebrating his birthday. I had been advised about certain foods that we could not eat and had requested the cake with candles. In the end, we ordered other things and paid the extra. Our guide, a young man, was more embarrassed than we were... in short, I felt cheated and could not even get angry with the local supplier who showed evidence of having followed through on the agreements with Viator!
Hey Gloria, I'm replying to make it clear to our next travellers, We have contacted you to confirm your tour after you booked it and we have explained that we don't offer an Italian speaking guide in our tour and this is clear in our description of the tour.You said no problem and asked for someone who speaks both English and Spanish as you were 4 people and 2 speak English and the others Spanish which means extra time spent in the tour but we haven't charged you any extras for service and time. You have asked for a bday cake we accepted and we informed you that it would be on the house so you don't have to pay for it. Once you are in the restaurant you wanted to ask for main courses while our guide kindly and me as coordinator were clear that you have booked and paid Tapas tour which we also generously serve food in it. You have invited people on dinner using our tour which is a combination between the service and the food so it wouldn't be possible to spend what you have paid us just on food. You were shown Cadiz and spent 3-4 hours with our guide then had dinner but it's not our problem if you exaggerate ordering food and we were clear about it ahead of time. this is what happened with you that's why you had to pay the difference. What happened in the restaurant from the waitress side was unprofessional towards our guide but you it was a misunderstanding. You were angry before your arrival to Cadiz and during the tour also, and then you have called me and spent an hour on the phone after your tour I apologized on behalf of the restaurant and for not meeting you expectations which was a waste of time and energy, but truth to be said this is a profitable company a we are professionals and we are always training our guides to give the best. Our description is clear IF YOU BOOK THE TAPAS TOUR YOU WILL BE SERVED TAPAS
Ali is prompt and polite, with lots of interesting information about the city, both historic and contemporary. He had a recommended route, but gave us options if we wanted to see things in more detail. His recommended choices of tapas that represented the area was appreciated.

This was a great tour and we would do it again. We had some very basic knowledge about Cádiz and our guide, Ali, was able to build upon our knowledge by providing greater detail and completing gaps. The tour was highly efficient and well paced. Ali took us to a wonderful restaurant for dinner which was so fun. I highly recommend this tour.

We enjoyed the walking tour with Betty, who was very knowledgeable about the history and culture, showing us many interesting areas. The only criticism is that the food at the end was quite limited, and didn’t live up to the “healthy” food advertised.

We walked throughout Cadiz on a Sunday which affects what is open. Nadia is American and spoke perfect English which is a refreshing change. As Canadians we could share similarities and differences in our backgrounds! Very well worth it! Cadiz is a lovely city and even though there was a marathon on, we managed to get thru some crowds!

We did this tour as a shore excursion while in port for the day. For cruisers, this is very convenient as the port basically deposits you right in the town. Our guide was Nadia and she was great. It was very interesting to tour with a US ex-pat who has the deep knowledge of Spanish language and culture and also the ability to compare/contrast life in Spain versus in the U.S. The tour through Cadiz is a nice mix of history/architecture and pretty parks and views. Versus the description of the meal as a traditional multi-course lunch, we went to a very popular local tapas restaurant (people were lining up waiting for it to open when we arrived) where we were able to try some of the local specialties.
