Questa chiesa ha uno stile architettonico gotico molto caratteristico, risalente alla fine del XIX secolo. È costruito su una collina e molto spesso troverai gente del posto che sale attraverso la ripida collina fino alla chiesa come tributo alla vergine. Successivamente, visiteremo una famiglia indigena dove osserveremo la tessitura dei cappelli di Panama. Questo è uno dei mestieri più autentici dell'Ecuador meridionale e ha un ruolo di primo piano nell'economia dell'area. Continuiamo il nostro tour con un giro attraverso gli incantevoli altopiani, godendoci gli splendidi panorami lungo il percorso.
Ingapirca è il principale sito archeologico Inca dell'Ecuador. Gli adoratori del sole costruirono questa fortezza-tempio nella valle del Cañar nel XV secolo. Si trova a circa 60 miglia a nord-est di Cuenca ad un'altitudine di 10.500 piedi sul livello del mare. Qui troviamo una delle strutture Inca più importanti, una piattaforma ellittica nota come "Tempio del Sole" circondata da cortili, terrazze e varie altre strutture. I really enjoyed this visit to Ingapirca and learned so much history about the Cañaris and Incas. The countryside is so beautiful and was a nice comfortable drive, with fun stops along the way. It feels really special to visit the site, and Andrés was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this day trip, either private or as a shared tour.
