Escursione al vulcano Arenal

Ricardo was super knowledgeable about the history of the volcano. From beginning to end he shared non stop information about the volcano, wildlife, and forest. At the end they provided delicious refreshing fruit. Highly recommend.

We would have been better off doing this trip ourselves. The guide added no value, just repeated himself many times, tried to be funny and fell flat, no command over language.

If you are looking for a memorable experience with the family, this is one hike you can’t skip while in La Fortuna. We booked with Callidryas Tours via Viator. Our guide Ricardo and driver Javier were extremely knowledgeable, punctual and catered to our level of physical activity. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Byron and Roberto! What a duo! Very great hike with Byron, so much information about the land and culture. We drove 3 hours from our resort to come here, and it is forever worth it! Great views and even a sweet ending to the hike. Roberto was our driver and he was kind and helpful. They are super helpful with families with children and getting the information to them for their age level. A tour you do not want to miss.

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Byron! It was a little bit of a cloudy day, but he made it an interesting tour nonetheless. He was very entertaining and knowledgeable in every question that we asked. He also took some amazing photos and videos of us for our memories. Would highly recommend a tour with this company and especially a tour with Byron! It was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Costa Rica.

Phenomenal guide (Richie) and great blend of hiking, amazing views, wildlife spotting, and education. I’ve taken four tours of Arenal over the last decade and this was by far my favorite! 🙌

Excellent learning experience. Byron was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and an entertaining presenter for the kids especially. He knew a lot about the science/geology, which was great because our kids had just studied volcanoes I. School and he could take it to the next level for them. Great hike. Steep but not long in duration. Very beautiful scenery.

Ricardo was our guide, and Manuel our driver. Great experience; Ricardo ran things with the care an owner would have. I went with my two adult children and it was a great experience for two 20-somethings and an 60 year old. Children as young as 8 did fine. Does require good knees and a modicum of stamina. (And excellent language skills; it is one thing to be able to be conversant, and another to talk about pyroclastic boulders).

Our group went on the Arenal Volcano hike on February 26th. Our guide was Emanuel. He was a delightful and very personable guide. He was also very very knowledgeable. The hike was easy and very scenic. We actually got some great photos and a lot of the volcano could be seen. We enjoyed some of the delicious fresh fruits at the end and had some fun wildlife sighting. If you are going on this hike ask for Emanuel for sure!

Excellent experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a true naturalist. His in depth conversation about Arenal and the new land created by the explosion of 1968 was so informative. We walked away with a true appreciation of the area and Costa Rica as a whole.
