Cannot recommend this excursion enough! The staff was so accommodating and friendly. This was such a fun adventure. We went on a day with lots of rain which made the water a little more rough, but I felt so safe and taken care of by the staff. We also got the photo package which was worth it! I brought my own water shoes and my husband rented some once we got there, but good shoes are a definite must. We will absolutely be doing this again if we find ourselves back in the area
We have done this activity twice as a family - The first time went with grandpa and when our kids were 10 and 12...the second time with the kiddos ages 12 and 14. It is by far the most exciting thing you'll do in Arenal! It is active, physical, beautiful, and unique! You should definitely be somewhat in shape, but honestly I think the short hike back up to the starting point is the "hardest" part for most folks.
It was very fun and beautiful. I got soaked from head to toe. I rented water shoes from them for $8.

Our family of four (with two boys, ages 11 and 13) had an amazing time canyoning! Our guides—Jose, Kendall, Ronald, and Elder—were fantastic. They made the experience fun while always making sure everyone felt safe and confident. My boys absolutely loved it and were eager to go first on many of the rappels and jumps. The guides did a great job encouraging everyone while keeping the atmosphere fun and relaxed. The scenery was beautiful, the rappels were exciting, and the entire trip was well organized from start to finish.
Super experience, very nice guides, also do well for the children. Good lunch afterwards. Recommended!
Unfortunately we got lunch and got out to the part where the you get all geared up and they realized the river had risen too high to be safe to do the tour. We were disappointed, but seeing video of the river I was so grateful they put our safety first. Everyone was super nice and tried to accommodate us coming back another day which wouldn’t work for our schedule. We were able to get a full refund. If this happens to you, be sure to get their WhatsApp contact as it took me messaging them a couple times to make sure the refund happened.

Book it. I have been a tour guide in multiple tourist destinations and gone on my share of travel tours. This was easily my favorite tour of my life. Jose, Kendall, Jonathan, Caesar and Ronan are pro’s, super safe, professional and fun. (Don’t listen to the few whiners here. Although I will say: to do this you must be in, like, not bad shape. You need to be comfortable being active). But they’re good at what they do and make it accessible. The jungle experience is truly magic - the colors, the jungle, the water. Unbelievable. You won’t believe your eyes. So grateful we came across this tour. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
