Meryemana (Casa della Vergine Maria) La Casa della Vergine Maria si trova sui monti Aladag a 5 miglia da Efeso. Al terzo Concilio Ecumenico del 431 d.C. ad Efeso, si affermò che Maria venne ad Efeso con San Giovanni nel 37 d.C. e vi visse fino alla sua morte nel 48 d.C. Visita le imponenti rovine della chiesa bizantina di San Giovanni, segnano il punto in cui fu sepolto San Giovanni Evangelista. Questa chiesa fu costruita sopra la tomba di San Giovanni. La chiesa attualmente visibile è cruciforme e coperta da sei massicce cupole, ed è stata donata dall'imperatore Giustiniano e da sua moglie Teodora. I capitelli rivolti verso la navata (navata centrale) recano i loro monogrammi. La Porta della Persecuzione costituisce l'ingresso alle mura della fortificazione bizantina ed è decorata con rilievi raffiguranti scene di inseguimento della vita dell'eroe greco Achilleo. Risale probabilmente al VI o VII secolo d.C

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Fusun was just great as was the driver. Enjoyed Ephesus ruins & Virgin Mary's house. Glad we were early since alot more people arrived while we were leaving. It was wonderful that the turkish lunch was included with this tour & it was absolutely yummy. We opted to go to the hammam as well & Fusun our guide waited for us till we were done & we were driven back to the ship. So glad we went with this tour. Very comfortable & air conditioned car. Would highly recommend this company in Kusadasi. Thank you again.

. I was a little worried but my group was very happy! Our guide was excellent and we have a group well traveled. The comments were WOW. I had no idea Turkey was so cool. Best food we have had on the cruise. Spent too much, ate too much drank too much, (raki is as WAY too much for me lol) life today was too much and we liked it.

We had a great tour of Ephesus, local food and a carpet factor with Volkan. We did not feel too pressured to spend extra money and the guide was very knowledgable of the local history. The guide was polite and friendly and spoke good English. Our driver was also very good and we felt safe on this tour. I would recommend this tour to anybody that wants to explore Ephesus and explore local culture.

It was an amazing tour of Ephesus, the Terrace Houses, Virgin Mary’s house, St. John’s Basilica as well as the lovely green countryside.
