Se hai problemi a scegliere tra un atterraggio al livello inferiore del ghiacciaio per vedere i crepacci e le meravigliose caratteristiche del movimento glaciale e un autentico tour in slitta trainata da cani su un'incredibile distesa di neve glaciale, non cercare oltre. Questo tour combina il meglio di entrambe le opzioni, offrendo l'esperienza completa al campo per cani con un'incredibile passeggiata al livello inferiore del ghiacciaio.

Il volo parte dall'aeroporto e ti porterà fino al campo di cani da slitta Herbert Glacier.
Il nostro Dog Camp Crew ti incontrerà all'elicottero e ti condurrà all'area di orientamento. Una volta che incontrerai i tuoi musher e i tuoi cani, partirai per il brivido finale di cavalcare con la squadra di slitte trainate da cani. Se ti senti particolarmente avventuroso, puoi provare a guidare la squadra. Sarai sul sentiero per circa 40 minuti.
Una volta che sei sceso con il tuo giro in slitta trainata da cani, incontrando i cani e i cuccioli, l'elicottero tornerà e ti porterà nella parte inferiore del ghiacciaio dove c'è il ghiaccio del ghiacciaio esposto. Durante questa sosta puoi ammirare viste meravigliose, bere l'acqua fresca e fredda del ghiacciaio ed esplorare l'area circostante. Il tuo pilota sarà la tua guida per questa fermata.

Gli orari elencati nei nostri tour sono gli orari di prelievo e consegna. Per garantire che gli ospiti possano arrivare in orario per il loro tour abbiamo bisogno di una finestra di 45 minuti tra l'orario di arrivo della nave e l'orario di ritiro di un tour. Allo stesso modo, abbiamo bisogno di 45 minuti tra l'orario di discesa e la partenza della nave per assicurarci che gli ospiti rientrino prima dell'orario di tutto a bordo. Se arrivate su una nave o alloggiate in un hotel nel centro di Juneau, vi incontrerete all'esterno, sotto i cavi del tram Goldbelt Mt. Roberts (490 S Franklin St) al vostro orario di prelievo. Trova un rappresentante costiero vestito di arancione brillante con in mano un cartello giallo che recita 'Elicotteri costieri' per essere registrato. Se alloggiate in un hotel vicino all'aeroporto, sarete accolti da un rappresentante costiero fuori dalle porte principali della hall. Per gli ospiti che attraccano al molo AJ, è possibile chiamare per richiedere il ritiro al molo - questo verrà programmato automaticamente per il primo tour dopo l'arrivo di una nave. - Politica no-bag. Se hai esigenze mediche che richiedono un bagaglio a mano, ti preghiamo di comunicarlo al momento della prenotazione. Tutti i bagagli portati alla base verranno conservati nell'ufficio tour fino al ritorno dal volo
- Vestiti in modo caldo e a strati e indossa scarpe con suola di gomma come scarponcini da trekking leggeri o scarpe da ginnastica. La compagnia turistica fornirà soprascarpe e potrà fornire impermeabili secondo necessità. Ricordatevi di portare la macchina fotografica, la pellicola e il binocolo!
- Soggetto a condizioni meteorologiche favorevoli. In caso di cancellazione a causa del maltempo, ti verrà data la possibilità di un orario alternativo o di un rimborso completo
- Assicurati che il tuo peso sia nel formato corretto (kg/libbre) quando lo includi al momento del pagamento
- RESTRIZIONI SUL PESO – Ricorda che ogni passeggero verrà pesato presso le nostre strutture. Assicurarsi che siano stati riportati i pesi accurati e che siano stati selezionati i tipi di passeggeri corretti per ciascun passeggero. La dichiarazione errata del peso o la selezione del tipo di passeggero sbagliato possono causare ritardi e cancellazioni del tour senza rimborso.
- Il mancato conferimento dei dati obbligatori comporterà la cancellazione della prenotazione. È necessario fornire i pesi individuali e i dettagli sulla posizione di ritiro.
- Coastal Helicopters farà del suo meglio per ospitare gruppi/famiglie sullo stesso elicottero. Tuttavia, non possiamo garantire i posti a sedere poiché tutto dipende dal peso e dal bilanciamento dell'elicottero, nonché dalle altre parti del volo. Questo verrà determinato al momento del check-in, una volta che tutti i passeggeri del volo si saranno pesati. Se la tua famiglia/gruppo dovesse essere diviso in più elicotteri, l'atterraggio avverrà insieme. We absolutely loved our dog sledding/glacier adventure! The scenery was beautiful and our pilot made sure we saw all the interesting spots as we flew and during the glacier landing. Our team of sled dogs were so lovable (one didn’t want me to leave). We got the flash drive of us sledding, which included everyone’s picture who was sledding at the same time. It was $80. You could also buy the printed pictures for $30 (for one) and $50 (for two). During the glacier walk we filled a water bottle and dipped a necklace in the glacier water. This experience was definitely a once in a lifetime moment we will remember forever! (P.S. Don’t forget your gloves and warm layers).
It was absolutely worth the trip! The handlers were amazing, and the dogs were fun, entertaining, and full of personality. Our slusher, Aliya, was also very friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it!
I arrived at the site 15 minutes before at the Celebrity Edge Cruise Dock and notified as was combined 1 day before by the application with Coastal (I was always answered in no more than 10 minutes). No one came to pick me up and they didn't warn me about the cancellation by the app and they didn't even call me. When I called them I was informed that the tour was cancelled because of the weather and I after very insisted I was placed on another tour that was legal. I was refunded the value of the difference from the tour contracted for the tour made. Finally tour was cancelled without notice neither by the app, nor by WhatsApp or by call as I agreed with them 1 day before. It is worth noting that this tour that was cancelled was my husband's dream and the reason for the trip from ALASCA.
The weather unfortunately forced the excursion to be cancelled. Our tour was scheduled for 11:30, but based upon what I saw early morning, the cancellation came as no surprise. My review is therefore based upon the fact that I’d have appreciated if the company had initiated some sort of communication, thereby giving folks time to at least consider alternative options if necessary. The cancellation was the right call, and their focus on safety is commendable. On the meeting site there were vendors trying to sell us similar tours which we declined and that proved to be the right decision because the weather didn’t improve. I would recommend the company to look at their communication process. They can’t control the weather but the communication is something that they can control.
This excursion was by far the most expensive part of our holiday, and sorry to say the biggest disappointment. From beginning to end the experience was rushed and designed to get as many people through it as quickly as possible for the maximum return. Our safety briefing, waiver signing, and boot fitting were all happening simultaneously prior to boarding the helicopters. This made us feel underprepared, hurried, and anxious. The views on the glacier were stunning, and had we had more time to enjoy being there, we might've come away feeling differently. But in reality, it was an impersonal money making machine that we felt caught up in. The coach transfer from our Disney cruise ship had technical difficulties and the driver did not instil confidence in our safety (especially given there were no seatbelts). Our actual ride on the sleds was less than 20 minutes including two stops. The circuit was small and ultimately felt like a 'minimum viable product.' The real kicker at the end was $80 for the photos they'd taken. Given the $900 price-tag of the excursion, this felt greedy. Especially when they said 'this money goes toward feeding the dogs,' which felt like emotional manipulation (because the price should almost definitely cover the cost of feeding the dogs). Did we get some great pictures? Yes. Is it something we can say we've done? Sure. Was it worth $900 per person? No. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not.

The trip to the glacier and the dog sledding was worth every penny! It's not too arduous either for a softie like me. The pilot and staff at the sledding camp were informative and good fun. Plenty of photo opportunities. A great experience.
One word-SPECTACULAR! What a great experience! The mushers, the camp, and of course the dogs! Watching the mushers with the dogs, they clearly have a bond with the animals and make you feel quite at home learning about the life of a musher. Did I mention puppies?! :)
