Il nostro tour Diamond Circle da Akureyri visita molte incredibili meraviglie naturali dell'Islanda settentrionale in un giorno - questa regione diversificata contiene molte gemme nascoste e delizie più note. Visitiamo le splendide cascate della zona. Il primo è l'elegante Godafoss o cascata degli dei. Dettifoss invece è pura energia grezza, la cascata più potente d'Europa. Vi portiamo al lago Mývatn e all'area geotermica di Námaskaro, dove l'influenza dell'attività vulcanica sul paesaggio della regione. Le pozze di fango bollente, le sorgenti termali, i crateri e l'odore di zolfo abbondano. Facciamo anche una sosta al canyon di Asbyrgi, dove una piccola foresta e un lago si trovano nel cuore di un notevole canyon a forma di ferro di cavallo. Scogliere a picco si librano in tutte le direzioni. Visiteremo Husavik, uno dei villaggi più belli d'Islanda. Ammira l'affascinante porto e la bellissima chiesa nel centro della città. Un delizioso pranzo al sacco è incluso nella prenotazione.

Da Akureyri guideremo per circa 30 minuti fino alla nostra prima fermata, che è la bellissima cascata chiamata Godafoss. Osserva le cascate da diversi punti di vista e percorri il sentiero per l'opportunità fotografica perfetta.
Percorri la zona del Lago Myvatn, che offre un paesaggio unico dal miglior punto di osservazione. Fai una breve sosta fotografica che si affaccia sul Lago Mývatn. Ammira tutta la maestosità di questo paesaggio unico. Decine di crateri punteggiano il paesaggio, risultato di antiche eruzioni vulcaniche.
Questa arida area rocciosa contiene pozze di fango bollente e sorgenti termali con nuvole di vapore sulfureo che persistono ovunque. I minerali delle acque geotermiche sono penetrati nella roccia e nel suolo qui dando origine a strani colori.
Ci fermiamo a Dettifoss, la cascata più potente d'Europa. La vastità e la potenza di Dettifoss è qualcosa da vedere. Puoi assistere a questa incredibile forza da diversi punti di osservazione
Questo vasto canyon a forma di ferro di cavallo è delimitato su 3 lati da enormi scogliere verticali alte fino a 330 piedi. Queste scogliere ospitano una moltitudine di uccelli. Nei tratti più profondi del canyon si trova un idilliaco laghetto chiamato Botnstjorn.
Un viaggio panoramico da Ásbyrgi a Húsavík. Questo affascinante villaggio di pescatori è la capitale islandese dell'avvistamento delle balene. Non avremo tempo per quel giorno, ma avremo tempo per ammirare il trambusto del porto centrale e una delle chiese più belle dell'Islanda. La fermata a Húsavík dura circa 20 minuti. Húsavík ha attirato l'attenzione internazionale dopo essere apparso nel film di Will Ferrell "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga", su Netflix. Il viaggio di ritorno ad Akureyri dura 1 ora, dove verrai accompagnato al porto.

Fantastic day experiencing a variety of things Iceland has to offer. Good info about the country, the people, and the history.
We thoroughly enjoyed this full day tour and learned so much. They were very mindful of cruise ship return times and we never once felt worried or hurried. Highly recommended.
Another excellent tour with a great variety of stops that showcased the incredible beauty and diversity of Iceland. Our guide, Sigurjon, did an outstanding job sharing interesting facts about the country’s history, culture, and traditions. What made the tour especially enjoyable was how he connected those stories to his own life, explaining how Iceland has shaped him and his family. Those personal insights made the experience feel authentic and gave us a much deeper appreciation for the places we visited. A sandwich was provided during the tour, and there were also several opportunities to purchase coffee, snacks, and additional food along the way, making it easy to stay comfortable throughout the day. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you have Sigurjon as your guide!
Our Diamond Circle tour was one of the highlights of our trip, and Sven made it truly unforgettable! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and shared so many interesting facts about Iceland. What really set him apart was his willingness to go above and beyond by making an extra stop so we could see the puffins. Tour was canceled twice by the provider because the cruise ships did not align with the tour schedules. I did not have another day where I could reschedule. This is a cruise port and all tour activities apparently revolve around the scheduling of the cruise passengers. This can eliminate travelers who are not cruise people. It sure did with me.
We had a great time. Our driver was great and our guide kept playing us music! The sandwiches provided were pretty good.
Well organized, good communication even with confusion and delays in getting off ship. One member of our party fell and had to be taken by ambulance but all was handled and the rest of the group was able to continue. Good flexibility for another group member with physical limitations. And, of course, the scenery was amazing!

This was not the original tour we booked but a great substitute. The 3 stops around the lake were all so different and very interesting. Coming from Florida we have nothing like this! Excellent guide who was very knowledgeable.
