Inizia la tua avventura di trekking etiope di un'intera giornata dall'antica città di Gondar, un tempo capitale. Verrai prelevato dal tuo hotel e guiderai per due ore fino a Debark, l'ingresso del Parco Nazionale dei Monti Simien. All'arrivo, sbrigate tutte le formalità e i permessi e incontrate la vostra guida e gli scout del parco nazionale che vi assisteranno per tutta la giornata. Quindi, guida per 13 miglia fino alla prima area del parco e al punto di partenza della tua escursione. Inizia il trekking su un sentiero di tre ore fino a Michibi, dove vedrai l'endemico babbuino gelada e molte varietà di piante e uccelli. Goditi la vista spettacolare dei Monti Simien dall'alto. Concludi la meravigliosa giornata con il rientro al tuo hotel a Gondar.

Ci incontreremo la mattina all'aeroporto di Gondar o al tuo hotel a Gondar. Guidi da Gondar a Debark, che è la città sede del parco nazionale. Ci fermeremo qui per ottenere il permesso per entrare nel parco e incontrare lo scout. Faremo una pausa per tè e caffè e visiteremo il mercato locale se avremo tempo. Il mercato locale è aperto tutti i giorni e ogni mercoledì e sabato è il grande giorno di mercato. Dalla città di Debark raggiungeremo l'ingresso del parco, che dista circa 16 km dalla città. Poi ci dirigeremo per circa 10 km verso il campo Sankaber, che è il primo campeggio nel parco nazionale. Dal campo Sankaber cammineremo per circa 3 ore. Camminerai lungo il bordo con viste mozzafiato sulle colline pedemontane 800 m più in basso. Sicuramente incontrerai gruppi di babbuini gelada endemici e li vedrai da vicino. Cascate Jinba, un'incredibile caduta a strapiombo di 500 metri, la caduta più lunga dell'Etiopia. torniamo sulla strada principale Kavamesk) dove l'auto si ferma per portarci a Gondar
Vale la pena fare una passeggiata di 20 minuti dal ciglio della strada al belvedere oltre l'abisso fino alla cascata Jinbar. I panorami sono vertiginosi e danno il meglio di sé durante la stagione delle piogge, quando l'acqua scende a cascata lungo una scogliera a strapiombo sull'altro lato della valle. Sankaber è il primo campeggio sulla maggior parte dei Simien Treks ed è una meravigliosa introduzione al parco. Il viaggio da Debark (la città d'ingresso ai Monti Simien) si conclude a Buit Ras vicino al Simien Lodge. Da qui inizierai il trekking verso il campo Sankaber. Il percorso da Buit Ras a Sankaber è relativamente mite e funziona bene come escursione di acclimatazione, anche se ci sono alcune salite più ripide mentre si sale fino a circa 3200 metri. Sankaber è circondato da alberi di erica gigante (Erica arborea) e bordi di scarpate. Il campo è situato sul bordo della scarpata e offre viste mozzafiato. Le scimmie Gelada giocano spesso qui e ci sono alcuni fantastici punti panoramici intorno al campo che puoi esplorare mentre ti acclimati.

The mountains were absolutely beautiful, and the views were amazing. It was a peaceful and refreshing experience away from the city.

Had a fantastic and fun filled guided group tour of day trip to simien mountains This was my first experience with Simien Mountain tours and happy and excited to say that it was a great one. Thanks for the well selected hotels. It enhanced our overall experience. The restaurants were also good,but could have been better. Our tour manager Mr Fentay was very helpful. A very kind hearten, jovial, courteous, fun filled character who was always around when we needed him and very patient with everyone on the tour.
