Questo programma offre trekking impegnativo ma immensamente gratificante lungo la cresta che cade a picco sulle pianure molto più in basso. Non è solo lo scenario (e l'altitudine) che ti lascerà senza parole, ma anche l'eccitazione di stare seduto in mezzo a un gruppo di scimmie gelada o di guardare magnifiche stambecchi di ibisco di Walia sulle sporgenze rocciose.

Itinerario
Ci vediamo al mattino all'aeroporto di Gondar o al tuo hotel a Gondar. Guidi da Gondar a Debark, che è la città principale per il parco nazionale. Ci fermeremo qui per ottenere il permesso di entrare nel parco e incontrare lo scout. Faremo una pausa tè e caffè e visiteremo il mercato locale se avremo tempo. Il mercato locale è aperto tutti i giorni e ogni mercoledì e sabato è il giorno del grande mercato. Dalla città di Debark, guideremo fino al cancello del parco, che dista circa 16 km dalla città. Quindi, ci stiamo dirigendo per circa 6 km verso Buit Ras, la prima area del parco nazionale. Da Buit Ras, cammineremo per circa 3, 4 ore a Chilkuwanit, che è uno dei punti panoramici più belli. Questa zona offre una vista mozzafiato sulla scarpata che scende verticalmente. Incontrerai sicuramente truppe dei babbuini endemici Gelada e li vedrai da vicino. Potresti anche vedere sciacallo comune, klipspringer e altro. Ci sono molti uccelli come il corvo dal becco spesso, l'Augar Buzard, gli aquiloni neri, il Lammergeyer e diverse specie di piante come la rosa abissina, l'albero di Erica Arboria, le specie di euforbia, l'erba di San Giovanni (Hypercumrevoltum) e così via. La nostra auto verrà a prendervi a Chilkuwanit e guiderà a Gondar

Due to the conflict in Amhara region, this tour as not possible in the natural park. And I understand that but I should have been informed in advance in order to be able to cancel the tour without penalty. They decided to make the tour in the beginning of the mountain range which is 20-30 km from Gondar. No park fees were needed. We were back at lunch time, which means the tour provided was not full day. Lunch was also not offered, I had to pay myself. This means that I paid a very high price for tour provided. after reporting the experience, I was provided with a partial refund, which I appreciate. So I recommend tourists to get informed about the security of the region and the feasibility of conducting the tour before booking.
The mountain trip with Tevan was great. Everything was very well organized. Tevan took care of every detail, he was a great tour guide with a lot of experience, knowledge and humor. I wholeheartedly recommend trips with Tevan.
What a WONDERFUL experience it was! Booking on Viator was a breeze and after that I believe my tour was organized by Ethio Travel and Tour (ETT) via the agent Malese, but executed by Simien Eco Tours, who provided the AWD vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser), the excellent/super prudent driver and the tour guide Amare (hopefully that’s the correct spelling). From a punctual pick up at our hotel to the drive up to meet the guide (and the friendly scout) and the tour/hike itself on the mountain, everything was handled with care by the team. Amare (the guide) was very professional, caring, knowledgeable and took the whole experience to a higher level by providing an overall phenomenal service. We saw animals, hiked, had lunch across from this enormous waterfall and gained knowledge on the wildlife and other curiosities about the area and Ethiopia overall. 10/10 experience that we’ll never forget! Can’t recommend it enough!
