La nostra prima tappa sarà Braga, la capitale del Minho, e poi scopriremo la storica città di Guimarães. Prepara le tue macchine fotografiche e vieni con noi a esplorare due delle città più importanti della storia del Portogallo! Braga è una città nell'estremo nord del Portogallo, a nord-est di Porto. È noto per il patrimonio e gli eventi religiosi. A est, il complesso Bom Jesus do Monte ha una chiesa neoclassica arroccata su un'elaborata scala di 17 piani. Nel centro della città, la Sé de Braga in stile medievale ospita un museo di arte sacra e la Cappella dei Re in stile gotico. Lì vicino, l'imponente palazzo arcivescovile si affaccia sul giardino di Santa Barbara.

Indubbiamente, questa imponente cattedrale è il più grande punto di riferimento di Braga.
Dopo pranzo a Braga, partiremo per Guimarães, la città natale del Portogallo e del patrimonio mondiale, dal 2001. Guimarães è un vero esempio dell'evoluzione di una città medievale nel corso della storia! Questa era la città dove nacque il primo re del Portogallo, D. Afonso Henriques. La storia di Guimarães è legata alla fondazione dell'identità nazionale e della lingua portoghese.
Simbolo nazionale del X secolo. Dall'esterno, la sua struttura medievale è impressionante; Al suo interno si può avere una magnifica vista sulla città. Successivamente, continueremo a passare vicino al Palazzo dei Duchi di Bragança e visiteremo la Chiesa di São Miguel.

Our tour guide, Raquel, was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable about the towns we visited, and she gave us great recommendations for lunch and pastries. My family had a great time on the tour and learned a lot.

Once I got on the bus, I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The Living Tours guide and driver were very special. HOWEVER. My Viator ticket said to go to Palacio do Bolsa. I got there especially early in order to walk the 20 minute distance. When it was 10 minutes before leaving I received a phone call. I then had to scurry directly uphill for 20 minutes. By the time I arrived at the meeting point, which was around the bend from my hotel, I thought my heart would explode from excertion! My post-op legs were in pain, although I had my compression stockings on. I was in breathing distress. As I showed my ticket to the guide, to prove the information I'd been given, another group was called and had been given a different meeting point altogether! I've never had problems with Viator before, and sure hope it doesn't happen again!

Our guide was Felipe and he was amazing — very kind, knowledgeable, and polite. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made us laugh throughout the tour. He was extremely helpful and supportive within the group, and his positive attitude made the whole experience even better. The two cities we visited were very interesting and had beautiful, fascinating histories. We also had the chance to visit a few temples and castles, which made the whole experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!

My wife and I were joined by two French speakers and to our surprise, our Portuguese driver & tour guide was able to effortlessly speak to us in both languages! I did not catch her name, but our tour was on time, driving and narration were great and she gave us enough free time to explore things on our own in both locations. Top notch.

We were taken through the Duoro Valley winery tour by Maria Marabuio today. She has a wealth of knowledge about the vineyards. A true local of the area and a wonderful person to be around for the 10 hour tour. Great places to visit, great food and great wine tasting locations. Cannot recommend Maria enough.

I had a really great day on this tour. Both cities are beautiful and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were only three people so it was like a private tour and I really enjoyed that. I recommend this tour.
