The Falls are a cool experience and Iguana. Mama provided great communication and transportation. However, we feel that we could have booked a different, cheaper excursion to the Falls and gotten the same experience as we did for the higher price. Because there were only two of us, we were placed with other large groups/buses of people at the Falls. So instead of getting to go to the 12th waterfall or more as stated in the description, we only got to go to the seventh like the other groups booked. It does state that if there isn’t enough water, you might not get to go to all of the Falls, but it wasn’t even an option because of the group that we were placed in. Also, instead of being a smaller group with a max of 20 as stated, we had over 50 people in our group. There was a lot of standing and waiting around. The hike up to the falls until the completion of the Falls, with waiting around it was only about an hour and a half. Also be advised that if someone in your group books the zip line in addition to the Falls, you will be sitting around waiting for them to return before being able to head back to the ship. What we experienced, although it was fun and the transportation to and from was great, the experience itself did not match up to the extra falls and smaller group that caused me to choose this specific experience that was more expensive compared to others. I could’ve gotten the same experience for $60 less.

We had such a great experience with Iguana Mama tours. Carlos and Henry were amazing guides. Provided excellent hospitality, we felt safe and had a blast.

This was spectacular and truly a once in a lifetime must-do experiences. My kids ages 11-16 said this was the coolest thing we've ever done. It beat the Grand Canyon and standing under the falls at Niagra Falls (those were the previous winners). The hike is not difficult, but if you have health or pain concerns you should know it is a bit of a climb. My son has a chronic pain condition in his ankles, but he made it and said it was worth it. Which says a lot. I also highly recommend getting the photographer. So worth it!!! They will get lots of pictures and document everything for each person in your group.

Carlos and Fernando were our guides. They were beyond fantastic. They were professional, personable, kind, and knowledgeable. My husband and I were the only 2 who booked this trip on Viator on this cruise. Seriously?! We literally spent HALF of what the cruise ship charged and had such personalized, top-notch service it was unbelievable. We were on the excursion WITH passengers from our ship but they paid 2x as much for the exact, same experience. If you worry about booking outside the cruise line, stop worrying. It's these people's job to give you a fantastic experience when you book with them. Could you imagine if they didn't get you back to your ship on time? They would never stay in business. The waterfalls were fantastic. It was shaded, stunningly beautiful, and quite the adventure. Definitely not an excursion for those who can't climb stairs or hike up a hill, but for those who can handle it, this is an excursion not to be missed.

We booked through NCL for the Damajaguas Waterfalls Full Experience Tour with Caribbean Adventure Tours. It is a challenging 40+ minute hike up and then down to the first of 7 waterfalls. They have available lockers and water shoes, for a $10 fee each. You must have closed toe water shoes or tennis shoes. They provide the life jacket and helmet, which are mandatory and ice cold bottled water. They strongly recommend no sunglasses, hats, watches, phones- it would be easy to damage any of them when sliding down the falls (if you wear prescription glasses, the guides will hold them for you went the falls part of the tour starts). The walk is very shaded. A photographer stays with your group to capture the experience, you can buy the USB for $55.

Pickup was clear & easy. Education provided by our guide was good. Our guide was great keeping us together during the 7 falls portions & helpful when climbing out of the water was difficult. In fact, this could've easily been a 4 or 5* review. But then we began our hike back. After a little ways, my wife tweaked her ankle & from that point on, we could only keep our guide & the other 4 patrons in our sights up ahead. Not once did our guide look back, slow, or stop yo make sure everyone was accounted for. At one point another large group crossed our path apparently starting their excursion. We thought we saw out group turn the same direction & once we got to the trun, some 30 people were between us. It wasn't until a great deal of hiking & climbing did we realize our group was gone. It took asking several other guides to find out they must've turned the other way & one led us to the beginning where, sure enough, our group was at the van drying off. Our guide didn't ask if we were okay & didn't apologize. He didn't even acknowledge our arrival.

Amazing experience, great crew! Highlight of our trip. The staff was amazing. We loved the falls and the trek to get there.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Iguana Mama Adventure Tours, and I can’t recommend them enough. From the very start, Ramone was outstanding. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and shared so much fascinating information about the local area, culture, and surroundings throughout the day. It ended up being just our group of four, which meant we essentially had a private tour, and Ramone went above and beyond—volunteering to take photos and videos of us the entire time so we could truly enjoy the experience. Our driver deserves special recognition as well—he did an amazing job navigating the mountain roads and made us feel completely safe and comfortable the entire drive. Along the way, we learned so much about cacao, seeing it multiple times throughout the tour. At the end of the excursion, we asked Ramone if he had recommendations for a local chocolate company. Not only did he have a recommendation, but he told us we had time and personally took us there. We ended our day sampling and purchasing delicious, locally made chocolate—an experience we never would have had otherwise. This tour was extra special for us because it was our 30th wedding anniversary, and the team surprised us by hanging an anniversary banner in the van. That thoughtful gesture truly meant the world to us and made the day even more memorable. Our waterfall guide was also fantastic—his nickname is “5 More Minutes” because he’s constantly encouraging you with “just five more minutes” on the hike up the hill. His humor, patience, knowledge, and support made the hike enjoyable and manageable, and we appreciated his guidance every step of the way. This was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. Iguana Mama doesn’t just offer tours—they create meaningful, personal, and unforgettable experiences. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting the area.

Great trip! Exciting, informative and fun! Alex was excellent sharing great information and his love of DR with us. Coming from a cruise ship, this was a perfect way to spend our family’s shore time.

Great day, Hike took around 40 minutes (quite a trek if not very mobile) beautiful area. Zip lines brilliant Waterfalls good, last jump 20ft was scary but great. Guides were fab
