Crediamo che la base di una vita sana e prospera sia una buona alimentazione; inoltre, che la gastronomia e le ricette di famiglia ci connettono come esseri umani. 11 anni fa abbiamo deciso di cambiare la nostra azienda agricola da una coltura “tradizionale” e abbiamo scommesso su una vita priva di prodotti agrochimici. In questa esperienza visiteremo il nostro orto biologico, selezionando ingredienti freschi per preparare una deliziosa cena e condividere con voi la nostra cultura. Ci auguriamo che, oltre a fornire un'esperienza culinaria deliziosa e salutare, ciò che facciamo ispiri più persone a preoccuparsi dell'origine del loro cibo ea prendersi cura del nostro pianeta. Hubert is an incredible tour guide for his farm. We learned a lot about all of the plants that are grown there and saw a variety of birds and frogs. We then used some of the farm ingredients to make a sugarcane juice and dinner. Fabulous experience with very great hosts!
Our family of 12 visited this organic booked through Serendipity Travel. So informative to learn about the various plants and vegetation. Our grandkids ages 17 months to 6 years old loved the hands on experience, plucking plants, smelling and tasting the herbs. We pressed fresh sugar cane juice, roasted cacao beans to make chocolates and entire meal of arroz con pollo and salad with the herbs we harvested. The meal which we helped prepare was delicious. My daughter indicated this was the best tour we participated in Fortuna.
A wonderful discovery with our children! We loved making our own chocolate bars as well as fresh sugarcane juice. Marion’s explanations were of excellent quality—she is truly passionate and shares her knowledge with great enthusiasm and clarity. We also ate very well, and the tour of the medicinal plant garden was a real highlight. Definitely our best activity in La Fortuna!
Huber & Mary are awesome! They were great with the kids and we all really learned a lot. We toured through the garden and learned about herbs, medicinal plants, and organic agriculture. Then we made our own juice and traditional CR dinner. It was all delicious! To top it all off, we saw a pair of green parrots and 3 pairs of red Macaw parrots flying through the farm and roosting in a tree. Truly an amazing experience!
One of our favorite parts of our trip to Costa Rica! Hubert SR and JR are both so kind and excited to share the abundance of their land/work. Cooking with them in their home was magical. They were so welcoming and hospitable. We learned so much and the food and sugarcane juice was so delicious!

This experience was absolutely amazing!! Fantastic farm tour and we learned a lot. We loved tasting the fresh sugar cane juices. The traditional cooking class in their family home on their farm was the highlight! This family is so kind and very enjoyable to be around! They were also so good to us and treated our daughter so well too, very family friendly and understanding for our young baby/toddler also! The food was so delicious and we took home some valuable skills back to our home! We are now back home and were so proud of ourselves to make a delicious Costa Rican dish back at home using the skills we learned here and it tasted so good! We can't recommend this experience enough! Such a memorable birthday and we will never forget it!
It’s an organic farm that is a medicinal garden! It’s wonderful! The volunteer staff were able to discuss all, with volunteers speaking different languages were with those who spoke those languages. So very personalized
An amazing family fun experience. The family is wonderful and Humberto and his brother gave an amazing tour of the farm and were so knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to spend time with them and would I highly recommend this experience. Great for couples, family and groups.
