It was early in the morning and the journey was long, but our guide, Diego, drove very safely. He also guided us smoothly through the two border crossings. The experience at the Copan ruins was, of course, fantastic, and I really appreciated the options he gave us for what to do afterward. I'm so glad I took this tour.
I had a day out with Diego today to Copan Ruinas in Honduras (from San Salvador) and it was really great from start to finish! Diego was very communicative and clear about the pick up time and location, and also about the proceedings of the day. We had to jump through multiple border crossings which could have delayed us back several hours but we were lucky that it wasn’t too bad coming back. I want to thank 🙏🏽 Diego for the long day of driving as he is working early again tomorrow. Thoroughly enjoyed my time and am very thankful that the experience was so positive (so is the minivan ride 🚐)
Absolutely wonderful experience. From the pick up 5 minutes early by Diego, the travel time to the return, everything was wonderful. Diego made sure the trip was smooth, that those in the van were having fun, to lining up a great tour guide and a lunch spot. Copan is a wonderful place that is larger than I realized. I also chose to visit the tunnels and am glad I did. Also importantly, Diego assisted in the border crossing. Overall, an excellent day
A wonderful full day! Diego was an expert guide. He and the driver were prompt from the get go and very helpful at getting us through passport control, lining up the guide at Copan, choosing a wonderful restaurant for lunch and getting us home. Copan surpassed my expectations and I recommend the tunnels as these are unique to all the Mayan sites.
It is a long bus ride but the buses are comfortable and air conditioned and there are several options to stop and use the restroom or grab coffee if wanted. Diego was our driver and made the immigration stops a breeze. He was so helpful and discussed many interesting things with us. The ruins are breathtaking in scope and importance. The local guides are experts and make the tour even more magical. Don’t skip this because it’s far away. We also enjoyed exploring the town of copan and had a little taste of Honduran life, and of course Honduran food is delicious. This tour exceeded our expectations
Loooong day trip with multiple border crossing but totally worth the effort ! The Ruins are less touristy than other places. You can see very detailed Mayan art and spectacular views of the ruins ! The ride was surprisingly pleasant and an highlight in itself. Our guide Francisco was fun, respectful, professional and took good care of us. I have to mention that it’s smart to message them first as they need at least 2 people for a tour ! WhatsApp: +503 7740 3538
This experience was even better than expected: it is perfect for people who like adventure + comfort, want to visit multiple Central American in one day, and/or enjoy history! Tour guide Francisco was an outstanding leader and expert driver, navigating the long route with a cheerful spirit. He is bilingual, kind, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. He also kindly lent me a neck pillow so I could rest better! The AC made it all very comfortable. I was the only passenger that day — so lucky and grateful! — but it would have been just as comfortable with others in the spacious van. The day started early and I was able to sleep a lot en route. We stopped for gas and breakfast, and I had a tasty meal! One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in my trip actually. You get to see beautiful nature and small town daily life along the route, like kids going to school and campesinos going to work. The journey is (part of the) destination and it’s absolutely true here. San Salvador is a great city but getting out and about gave me even more insight into the country! Francisco made crossing the borders easy, which is a huge advantage of doing this with a tour. I’m an experienced and confident traveler in Latin America but doing that all on my own would have been much more complicated and longer — I’m glad it worked out well this way. The Copán Ruinas are fascinating and magnificent!! I enjoyed a personal one-on-one two-hour tour with Virgilio who speaks Mayan, Spanish & English. He’s truly an expert with decades of experience as an archeologist, educator, translator & tour guide. We bonded over both being teachers, although he’s also a teacher of teachers!! I love history but am not a Mayan history buff: however, I learned more than ever from Virgilio than any book or video and hence developed a new appreciation. We walked and climbed a lot but I was able to sit or stand in the shade for most of it. I have been to Chichén Itza in Mexico and enjoyed it; however, visiting Copán was so so much better due to the personalized experience, being super close up to the artifacts, and lack of crowds. If you liked Chichén Itza, you’ll love it here; if you didn’t like Chichén Itza, you’ll probably really like it here. Afterwards, Francisco drove to the nearby downtown of Copán Ruinas, which is a quaint and charming bustling little city. Again, while it had some tables of souvenirs, it still very much is a lived-in place full of mostly locals. I bought a smoothie, some fabric, two magnets & a tasty lunch of a baleada. It was a nice change to relax and see another place! My tip is to bring cash: they accept lempiras, US dollars & quetzals. The long ride back was smooth and fun as you could see the sunset and people preparing for the weekend such as by cooking pupusas roadside and relaxing together. I was able to nap and also have another wonderful conversation with Francisco! I am also grateful that he stopped extra for me to use the restroom: if you are someone like me who needs to go frequently, please be assured that you will have many opportunities to use the restrooms along the way and your guide will stop if you ask. I would absolutely recommend this tour to family and friends and even do it again myself. I had thought about renting a car and I’m glad I chose this tour instead. I’d be happy to go on more tours by this operator too. It is indeed an expensive excursion but absolutely worth it if you’re on the fence. If you have any questions, you can contact them via the app: they’re very helpful and will respond quickly. Thanks for a great trip!
Solid experience 10/10, both the driver and tour guide were great and personally tailored the experience to each individual. NO hesitant to use and recommend there services.
Loved tidy sure, very cute
Original booked tour-date was 17/3 with pick up time as early as 5 am. I flew half of the world for this tour and wrote for confirmation about 1-week in advance to make sure there'd be no problem about the program, but no response at all. Only by 5 pm.of the day prior to the tour that the operator wrote back that my tour would be cancelled. No other recovery nor compensation was offered, just "Cancelled". I wrote back immediately and received no reply. I then asked Viator and my hotel reception to help. Only late in the night that I was told my tour would be moved to 18/3 instead. What would happen if my schedule wasn't available on the date. I'd understand if any problem occurred but with timely correction but the tour operator handling as above was seriously unacceptable. On 18/3 the pickup and transfer was on time and the long journey to Copan went well. Unfortunately, the guide-on-site offered very basic information. A lot of room for improvement left to be corrected.
