In questo tour visiteremo due destinazioni e avremo la mezca di Archeologia, Storia, Natura e città coloniale. Cihuatan, è il sito archeologico più esteso e uno dei meglio restaurati, sarai guidato dai suoi giochi con la palla, dalla piazza principale, potrai scalare la piramide principale, capirai perché si chiama: Il posto successivo alla donna. Suchitoto è la città coloniale meglio conservata, che per qualche motivo il suo suolo ha permesso alla maggior parte delle sue case di rimanere intatte per più di 250 anni nonostante si trovasse in una terra vulcanica colpita dai terremoti.

Cihuatan (in Nahuat: luogo accanto alla Donna) è il più grande sito archeologico di El Salvador, ma uno dei meno conosciuti. Questo sito fu abitato da una civiltà emergente dopo il crollo dei Maya. Visiterai gli splendidi edifici che fanno sussultare la città come il teatro o l'imponente chiesa coloniale di Santa Lucia. Avrai viste impressionanti sul tranquillo lago di Suchitlan, rinomato per essere il luogo perfetto per praticare il birdwatching. Dopo il tour guidato della città avrai tempo extra per viaggiare per la città a modo tuo. Visitando i negozi d'arte, assaggiando dessert nelle caffetterie o scattando foto di questa bellissima città, visita le bellissime gallerie d'arte. Visiteremo l'emblematica cascata Los Tercios, riconosciuta per la sua speciale formazione rocciosa formata. Una scultura perfettamente scolpita, realizzata da Madre Natura; Il suo interesse risiede nella spettacolare composizione della parete verticale della cascata formata da blocchi esagonali di pregiata pietra scolpita, che costituiscono il fondo della cascata. L'altezza del salto può superare i 10 metri e sebbene nella stagione secca formi un'immagine singolare, è nella stagione delle piogge quando l'acqua scende attraverso i blocchi che raggiungono il suo massimo splendore e bellezza paesaggistica. This is a great experience outside the city. You get to see how most salvadan people live and also some great history! Asmara was a fabulous guide and speaks great English👍

I was the only person on this trip that day. The guide had so much to share, and knows the place very well! He also happened to be the one who manages the tour company too; his story growing up in El Salvador and struggling through its tumultous history touched my heart! I enjoyed a lot of random fruits along the way, which was so much fun :-) Please go on this trip!
It is a full-day tour (about 8ish hours) and a great way to experience El Salvador if you're only there a couple of days. You'll walk a lot. Our guide was Herbert and he was really good. Our first stop was the Volcano above San Salvador (El Boqueron National Park). You'll get a terrific view over San Salvador and you can do the glass floor walk over the caldera. Very good way to start the day. Next you will visit the Cihuatan ruins. The guide Herbert was really knowledgeable on the Nautl people and language and you will see the pyramid, ball court and temple grounds. It was really interesting and informative. Finally you'll visit the old capital of El Salvador Suchitoto, which is a beautiful quaint colonial town. We stopped and ate at La Posada de Suchitlan for lunch, a restaurant with incredible vistas, gardens, and good authentic Salvadoran food. Then you'll get a little walking tour of Suchitoto including the quaint church in the middle of town. Be sure to buy some coffee because it is delicious. Again, great single day El Salvador experience, great guide, and bring your walking shoes.
We had a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide from Eco Tours Petate. He was early at our hotel. He even provided us with chilled water. After leading us around the Mayan ruins and the charming colonial town he selected a restaurant overlooking a lake where we dined in style together.

This is the best tour I’ve had in El Salvador. I have a fascination with the Mesoamerican civilization, which has taken me to places in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. El Salvador was the last Maya country I had not yet seen. I had a private tour with Eco Tourism and Herbert as my guide. He was very knowledgeable about the places we visited and about El Salvador in general. He had answers to all my questions. The pacing of the tour was exactly what I expected. Herbert was very passionate about what he does and highly professional.
This was a great tour! Antonio was such a great tour guide. Suchitoto was a beautiful historical city. We got nice pictures of the lake. I was really impressed that Antonio took us to the first house in Suchitoto. It was incredibly historical and well preserved. Entire tour was really great and well organized. All credit to Antonio.
