The charter was well organized. The captain was very nice and easy to spend the day with. Based on the recommendations on the website we opted to fish for salmon. It was very disappointing that we received two different confirmations recommending adding a king salmon stamp, which cost additional money, to our fishing license, which we did. When we arrived we were told we would not be able to keep our catch that day because king salmon fishing was not open yet, and that was probably what we would catch. In our four hour charter we only caught two king salmon because it was too early in the season, contrary to the information on the website. Even more disappointing, we could not get a picture of my husband with the catch because it was catch and release. There was no place for us to sit on a rocking boat for four hours unless we went inside the cabin and stopped fishing, which was exhausting! Not even an ice chest or bucket to sit on. We were told there would be a place to use the bathroom. When we arrived he told my husband he could just go off the side of the boat if he needed to (which the captain did do). I was told that if I needed facilities the captain could hep me get to a place underneath because it was almost impossible to get to. Very little actual fishing was done by us. Mainly just reeling it in. The captain, baited, set, and when the fish got near he was the one who brought it close enough to release it himself. I would suggest doing your own research to see what it is best to fish for, and verifying with someone else to make sure it is possible.

Early-season salmon fishing in Ketchikan can be challenging because King Salmon regulations are set by Alaska Fish & Game and can change from year to year. During the period of your trip, King Salmon fishing was catch-and-release only, which unfortunately meant that any King Salmon caught could not be retained. We understand how disappointing that can be, especially after purchasing a King Salmon stamp and looking forward to bringing home a fish. The recommendation to purchase a King Salmon stamp is provided because King Salmon are often the primary salmon species encountered during that time of year, and regulations can change throughout the season. We will review our confirmation messaging to ensure the current regulations and expectations are communicated as clearly as possible. Regarding the fishing experience itself, our crew's goal is always to help guests maximize their opportunities for success. This often includes baiting hooks, setting gear, and assisting with fish near the boat, especially for guests who may be new to Alaska salmon fishing. We understand that some anglers prefer a more hands-on experience and appreciate this feedback. We are also sorry to hear that you found the seating arrangements uncomfortable and that the restroom accommodations did not meet your expectations. Our vessels are equipped with enclosed cabins and marine toilet facilities, but we will review how these amenities are explained prior to departure so guests know what to expect. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the experience we provide to future guests. Great trip! Planning the trip was a breeze with great communication from Oasis. Joann drove the shuttle and told us all kinds of info about Ketchikan. Danny was our captain and because we only had 4 hours r/t the Eurodam's schedule, he worked really hard to get us on salmon! We caught King, Pink and Silver salmon. We lost a few and some were a little small so threw them back. One of the highlights for me was that we had whales all around us bubble net feeding. Absolutely amazing! Back at the dock we got to take pictures of our catch and then the team fileted, vacuum packed, froze and shipped our salmon. It arrived the day after we got back, as expected. Can't recommend the Oasis team enough. Fantastic trip!
Best guided fishing excursion. The staff was attentive from booking through drop off back at the ship. The guide, Schuyler, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made our fishing experience that much better. Highly recommend.

We had the best time. I highly recommend using the shuttle service; it took the stress out of getting to the marina and back to the ship on time. TJ, our captain, was excellent, informative, and so excited when we hooked a fish. Everything was excellent—from booking, communication, transportation, to fishing.

Joanne picked us up right on time and she was so nice and told us a lot about Ketchikan. Schuyler was our fishing guide and he taught us a lot about fishing g for salmon. He was great! Caught a couple of king salmon and saw whales, seals, and bald eagles!

Hunter again was able to put us on fish for three consecutive days. Brought home over 175lbs of silvers, halibut and cod. We also donated 20lbs to the local women’s shelter.
