Fortezza della città di Cartagena, il castello fu costruito nel 1639 e si trova sulla collina di San Lázaro.
Sull'isola di Manga si trova il Forte di San Sebastian del Pastelillo, che ora è diventato la sede del famoso ristorante Club de Pesca. In questo luogo c'era il forte di Boquerón, che fu distrutto nel 1741 dall'ammiraglio Vernon nell'attacco alla città di Cartagena. Insieme ad altre fortezze come Fort San Jose e Fuerto de San Fernando, controllava il traffico marittimo della baia per prevenire possibili attacchi. Il Forte di San Sebastian del Pastelillo ha 31 pistole e il camuffamento si ottiene sul terreno. Il nome di San Sebastian deriva da un santo patrono dei conquistatori, e Pastelillo è un termine militare che significa erba, quindi un castello che si adatta al terreno.
Quindici metri di altezza, circa 20 tonnellate di marmo, la scultura della Virgen del Carmen è tornata nella baia di Cartagena il 6 giugno per continuare con una tradizione di oltre 30 anni che era stata interrotta dopo il crollo dell'immagine nell'agosto 2015. La figura emblematica, i cui pezzi di marmo bianco italiano caddero sul fondo dell'acqua sotto una forte pioggia furono recuperati dal fondo del mare in un'operazione coordinata con la Marina Nazionale. In occasione della festa della Virgen del Carmen, il 16 luglio 1946, una bella processione ebbe luogo a Cartagena. Nel sermone di chiusura era a capo di padre Rafael García Herreros, dai balconi dell'attuale municipio, vicino a Plaza de la Inquisición, lanciò l'idea di erigere un'immagine colossale di Nostra Signora, la Vergine del Mare , nel mezzo della baia. Fu creato un Consiglio per i monumenti monumentali che iniziò a incontrarsi ogni settimana nella sacrestia del convento di Santo Domingo, dove operava il seminario conciliare. Per mezzo di Manuel Mainero, console italiano a Cartagena, e rappresentante della compagnia di navigazione "Linea Italiana", la gestione di un'immagine in marmo è stata gestita, con la firma U. Luisi Heredi, scultori di Pietra Santa, popolazione italiana vicino a Pizza. L'inaugurazione ebbe luogo il 16 luglio 1958. Quel giorno una folla, guidata dall'arcivescovo José Ignacio López, cantò elogi alla Vergine in un'impressionante processione che partì dalla Cattedrale e raggiunse le mura lungo l'Arsenal Avenue.

All'inizio del XVII secolo fu deciso di fortificare la baia interna e, con un decreto reale del 1608, fu ordinata la costruzione di un forte nella Punta del Judío, la Santa Cruz. Conosciuto come Castillogrande, fu costruito da Cristóbal de Roda e Francisco de Murga tra il 1626 e il 1636, seguendo il piano di Tiburcio Spanoqui. Era una fortezza con una base quadrata, con baluardi in ciascuno dei quattro angoli, un cortile centrale delle armi e un fossato. Quando l'entrata Bocagrande fu chiusa nel 1640, la strategia difensiva della baia cambiò, centrando l'entrata Bocachica. Questo fatto colpì le fortezze esistenti della baia, ordinando il loro smantellamento nel 1647 per riutilizzare i materiali nella costruzione di San Luis de Bocachica. Nonostante ciò, Castillogrande sopravvisse fino all'attacco francese guidato dal barone De Pointis nel 1697, quando fu gravemente rovinato. Juan de Herrera y Sotomayor lo considerò la chiave per la difesa del porto, quindi nel 1728 ne diresse la ricostruzione che non sarebbe stata completata nel 1741 quando Vernon attaccò la città. La fortezza fu parzialmente distrutta e non sarebbe stata ricostruita, i suoi resti furono usati da allora in poi come munizioni per l'artiglieria. Questo uso continuò fino al 1938, quando un'esplosione in un deposito di munizioni mantenuto lì dalla Marina distrusse le sue volte, lasciando solo una parte del bastione vicino al porto e altre vestigia. Attualmente è integrato nelle installazioni del Club degli ufficiali della Marina nazionale.

It was really fun! Specially at the beginning, they have a really fun DJ, but for what you pay I don't feel satisfied. No food! I thought I was buying dinner on a boat which is what I was looking for, but its fun for couples. The drinks were not great.

The boat is nice, they have a restroom, seats for everyone and only one part is covered with a roof. There is a DJ, two bartenders and two waiters. The ambiance is great, music, jokes, and a little pirate show before coming back. They provide guidance on how to find the boat in a very busy port, they send a picture of the ship and a picture of your guide. Our guide, Elkin, was the best photographer we could find, he took pictures, made videos, and helped us with every request. The drinks are included and unlimited. We went with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. If you go with kids, keep an eye on them since the boat has open spaces that a child could easily fit into and fall. They provide lifesaving vests upon request.
NOT recommended for children - It is a scam We did the "Black Pearl II" activity with my children expecting something pirate-themed. Out of 2 hours, only 10 minutes were for children. The rest is for adults: rude language, sexual content, and drinking competitions between the DJ and the attendees. There were 10 bored children exposed to an inappropriate environment. My children left saying: "I am disappointed. This is a scam". Zero education, zero pirate theme, just noise. Now I have to explain to my son swear words he learned there. It is a SCAM to get people onto the boat. Do not bring children. NOT for kids - Total SCAM We did the "Black Pearl II" activity with my kids expecting a pirate experience. Out of 2 hours, only 10 minutes were for children. The rest is for adults: rude language, sexual content, and drinking contests between the DJ and guests. There were 10 kids onboard, all bored and exposed to an inappropriate environment. My kids said: "I'm disappointed. This is a scam." No teaching, no pirate theme, just noise. Now I have to explain new swear words my son learned there. They just pack the boat with people. Do NOT take children. The boat is beautiful. I believe we were lucky that few people went up to our reservoir; besides my family and me (4 people), only another family of 4, two couples, and a single guy went up. This allowed us to do many activities such as raising the sails and participating in the pirate ship battle. It is all-you-can-drink, and it is totally worth it; the drinks are very good and strong, but that is what one looks for in an all-you-can-drink. I loved the music, all the decorations, and they also lend you pirate hats and plastic swords for taking photos. The crew is not only perfect for setting the party atmosphere, but they are also excellent for taking photos; they helped us take incredible pictures that we will keep as memories. The service was very pleasant; one would expect that because it is all-you-can-drink, they would take a long time to bring or serve the drinks, but quite the opposite; even before you finish your drink, they offer you another one, and I loved that. We had a cloudy day, but even so, the views of the coast and the city are beautiful; the navigation does not feel turbulent, and it is an excellent plan to party in a relaxed way with family. Totally recommended.
The tour is very delicious and the hours fly! The people who were working were extremely dear to me and my family. We are Brazilians and we did not master 100% of Spanish, but the team made a lot of efforts to serve us in the best way possible. They were very caring, especially with my father. The included drinks could have a better quality, especially we didn't like them very much hahahaha. Other than that, the walk and the climate are amazing! The DJ got too much on the chosen songs. We were very happy and grateful for this afternoon surrounded by good people, excited and happy!
The pirate ship boat tour was a wonderful experience with beautiful views and a stunning sunset. It was such a relaxing time, and I highly recommend it for couples looking to enjoy a peaceful and memorable outing. The crew members on the ship were very helpful and made the whole experience even better. Overall, it was a fantastic way to unwind and take in the scenery.

Elkin a professional photographer/videographer made sure we left the cruise with amazing memories on film. Drinks were flowing music was playing! This tour is a must. Worth every penny!
