Very informative tour. I loved how the guides incorporated their language in the teachings and had us speak back to them. My favorite part was the tour of the house and the time with the herbalist. Will come back if I am ever in this region of the world.

We had an incredible tour of San Basilio de Palenque with Romeo, who was a fantastic guide! He and the local community welcomed us with open arms, everyone was super friendly (amable) and made us feel completely safe and right at home throughout the entire visit. The tour is available in both English and Spanish, making it easy and engaging for everyone. A major highlight was the food, we had the most amazing fish stewed in coconut milk! Beyond the history and culture, it was also a great opportunity to connect with interesting people along the way. I highly encourage both national and international travelers to book this tour. It’s not only a rich cultural experience, but also a meaningful way to directly support the local community. Don't miss it when visiting Colombia!
You can’t come to Cartagena without booking a trip to San Basilio del Palenque. Roméo and his whole team was exceptional. Lots of food choices to choose from for your included meal.
We had the incredible fortune of joining Tour De Palenque, Road to Emancipation. Our group leader was Romeo who introduced us to San Basilio de Palenque. On the van trip, driven by the excellent Juan "Guantanamera", Romeo set the stage for our experience by giving us the history of "Palenge", encouraging us to practice the unique living language of the people, and treated us to music of the town. Once arriving, we met several young members of the community who welcomed us and led us on informative tours. We got a glimpse of daily life, we learned more of the Palenge language, dance traditions, and we discovered more about the importance of the town in the fight for freedom. We encourage you to join this tour to support this thriving community and all the people who love this town and its future!

A thorough exploration of Palenque. We were entertained through music and dance, had a delicious lunch, and left inspired by the kind population.
10/10 the tour was super fun. The lunch provided I had the grill chicken, rice, and beans. I also tried the fish. This was the best Colombian food I had my entire trip!
Roméo ( and his friends) gave an excellant tour. He is a great guide and a wonderful human. I left the tour truly feeling closer to the people and the beautiful culture in Palenque.
