Ciao, sono Alvaro e insieme inizieremo questo viaggio nel cuore di Oaxaca. La nostra prima tappa sarà a Teotitlán del Valle, dove visiteremo una cooperativa di artigiani che mantengono vive le antiche tecniche di tintura e tessitura della lana. Poi ci dirigeremo verso la mia pittoresca cittadina di Mitla, circondata da splendide montagne e campi di agave. Desideroso di condividere con voi la mia cultura e le mie tradizioni, esploreremo i maestosi campi di agave per saperne di più su di essi e scoprire perché esistono mezcal con sapori diversi. Non mancheranno foto e risate! In seguito, visiteremo la distilleria di famiglia per conoscere passo dopo passo il processo di produzione e la passione con cui viene realizzato. Concluderemo con una degustazione di diverse varietà di mezcal abbinate a deliziosi e autentici piatti della cucina oaxacana. Durante tutto il tour sarò attento alle vostre esigenze; il mio obiettivo è farvi sentire a casa e rendere il vostro viaggio nel mondo del mezcal un'esperienza indimenticabile.

Una volta che saremo tutti insieme, inizieremo con una breve spiegazione della giornata che ci aspetta e brinderemo con un buon Mezcal per dare inizio al nostro viaggio verso Teotitlán del Valle.
Inizieremo il nostro viaggio attraversando paesaggi montuosi fino a raggiungere Santa María Teotitlán del Valle, un tradizionale villaggio artigianale, dove visiteremo un laboratorio di tintura e tessitura della lana per apprendere in prima persona l'antica tecnica di tintura zapoteca.
Viaggio attraverso i campi di agave: Una volta giunti al villaggio, inizieremo il nostro tour passeggiando tra i campi di agave, dove queste piante robuste si ergono a custodi del patrimonio di Oaxaca. In un paesaggio circondato da montagne, cactus e agavi, ci immergeremo nella sua storia, comprendendo la sua trasformazione dall'abbraccio della terra al nettare che adorna la vostra tazza. Le foto sono d'obbligo.
Tradizioni rivelatrici: Il nostro viaggio continua alle porte della nostra distilleria di mezcal a conduzione familiare. L'aria è densa del dolce aroma dell'agave, una promessa dei tesori che attendono. Guidato da me e mano nella mano con il maestro mezcalero, sarai trasportato indietro nel tempo per assistere all'antico processo che trasforma gli umili cuori di agave nell'oro liquido noto come mezcal. Il culmine del nostro viaggio arriva quando degustiamo la nostra collezione di mezcal, ognuno con il suo carattere e la sua storia unici. Mentre sollevi il bicchiere, il liquido vellutato danza sulla tua lingua, rivelando sapori che vanno dal terroso all'etereo. Guidato da me esplorerai le sfumature di ogni sorso, un viaggio che risveglia i sensi e accende un apprezzamento più profondo di questo straordinario elisir.

Leida was knowledgeable about family owned Mezcal making from start to the end. Took us to a Great lunch spot. Went out the way to drop me at my stay. I would highly recommend her and this tour to those interested in Mezcal
The description of this experience sounded so amazing: a very personalized tour with a mezcal maestro, a fabulous traditional family lunch with an intimate setting. But unfortunately this was not the case. Although the guide Leyda was extremely professional and knowledgeable and the trip to the agave fields was informative and fun, the food experience was not at all good. We were taken to a roadside eatery and given one dish (with a lot of meat, when I had told them I was vegetarian! They rectified this by giving me a dish of veg and taking away the cheese!), very loud music and no atmosphere. I wrote to Alvaro and explained my disappointment and he was very communicative and apologized, but for us this was a once in a lifetime experience and I’m afraid I can’t recommend it based on the price and compared with other tours. It did not meet my expectations.

We sincerely regret that some aspects of the tour did not fully meet your expectations. The presence of our mezcal master can occasionally be affected by the realities of small-batch artisanal production, especially during the rainy season. Regarding the meal, we do offer vegetarian and vegan options whenever dietary preferences are communicated before the tour, which is why we contact guests in advance whenever possible. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve both our communication and the overall guest experience. Experience was amazing. Our guide Leyda especially made the day, she was incredible! Loved walking through the agave fields, and then seeing the whole process of how the Mezcal is made from start to finish. Tasting was great and the lunch they took us to was truly delicious- would absolutely do this again!
We had an amazing afternoon on the Mezcal and countryside tour. The first stop to the textile factory was very informative and interactive. Alvaro was a great guide with tons of knowledge about Mezcal and Oaxaca. We toured the beautiful agave fields, practiced using a machete, and learned the entire Mezcal production process from the field to the bottle. The Mezcal tasting was fun and informative, and the Mezcal all tasted great! Finally we shared a traditional Oaxacan lunch at a beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend this tour for a wonderful experience, and thank you so much Alvaro!

Other than the ride from Oaxaca to Mitla (the car was a tight fit for 5 guests) it was a great trip. Fun, entertaining and very informative, followed by an amazing lunch. The work that goes into each bottle of Mezcal is insane!
