Il tour inizia dal sagrato dell'abbazia di fronte all'iconica chiesa abbaziale dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, comunemente nota come Abbazia di Bath, che è una chiesa parrocchiale anglicana ed un ex monastero benedettino. Fondata nel VII secolo, l'Abbazia di Bath fu riorganizzata nel X secolo e ricostruita nel XII e XVI secolo.
Le terme romane sono terme ben conservate nella città di Bath. Un tempio fu costruito sul sito tra il 60 e il 70 d.C. nei primi decenni della Britannia romana. Secondo la cronaca anglosassone, le terme romane originarie erano in rovina un secolo dopo. L'area intorno alle sorgenti naturali è stata più volte riqualificata durante l'Alto e il Basso Medioevo.

This was an excellent tour of Bath with Bob, during which we learned an enormous amount about Bath. We found it really interesting to understand more about how Bath developed over time and the tour was a nice pace as well. We were lucky to be the only ones with Bob during our tour so we could ask lots of questions. I would highly recommend Bob and this tour.

Excellent walking tour - we are so glad we did this! It gave us a way to view Bath with completely fresh eyes!! We did it on day 2 of our trip so we had seen many of the buildings but had not noticed many of the details and our understanding was vastly enriched. If you are a Jane Austen fan, Bob is incredibly knowledgeable about her connection to Bath and her personal history. This is a great option for you!

He was professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. We were a group of 17 French seniors speaking English coming for a long week end. Bob kept the audience captivated for nearly 3 hours when our tour was already planed for 2 . He was patient enough to wait for the group to gather together and move from one place to the next to start talking .
