L'avventura ha inizio. Salutiamo temporaneamente la bellissima Bath e dirigiamoci verso la prima destinazione della giornata
Le pietre erette di Stonehenge sono uno dei siti più grandiosi conosciuti oggi. Coloro che visitano si prendono una pausa dal mondo moderno per qualche istante e vengono trasportati indietro in un mondo a lungo dimenticato, un mondo in cui la spiritualità, il paganesimo e il culto definivano le persone.
Ma queste non sono le uniche pietre di cui dovresti meravigliarti. Nel dolce villaggio di Avebury, i visitatori vengono a passeggiare nel più grande cerchio di pietre preistoriche del mondo. Incastonato tra manieri e natura, questo sito merita davvero una visita.
Dopo pranzo, viaggeremo nelle zone rurali del Wiltshire fino al villaggio di Lacock, famoso per le sue strade pittoresche, gli edifici storici e il ruolo di location televisiva e cinematografica. L'Abbazia nel cuore del villaggio ha i suoi boschi e una bizzarra casa di campagna con stili architettonici affascinanti.
L'ultima tappa della giornata è Castle Combe, spesso definito uno dei villaggi più belli d'Inghilterra. I fan di film come War Horse e Stardust di Neil Gaiman potrebbero riconoscere questo posto, quindi prepara la fotocamera.

This tour was fantastic. Esther with Rabbie’s was a fabulous guide. She gave anecdotes along the way which provided us with tidbits of interest. This made the drive between stops enjoyable. The stops to Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock and Castle Combe were perfect with the right amount of time at each. Esther was very knowledgeable of each stop, with pertinent information that was helpful for managing our time at each stop.
Tom is a fantastic guide and we thoroughly enjoyed his tour and the mix of (so much!) information about the area and its cultural history, and humour. He balanced his commentary perfectly with music that reflected the areas we were driving through. The day seemed to fly by despite the long hours and distance covered (geographical and historic!). Thanks for a great introduction to Somerset, Wiltshire/Stonehenge music and Gloucestershire Tom! We will be back for more.
Our tour guide was the best ever. Very personable. We saw the beautiful little towns and had just the right amount of time, and the breaks were timed very well. 9 hours flew by.
Tom was the perfect guide for this day trip and shared not only many interesting facts along the way, but also a delightful playlist to complement the sights. His experience working at Stonehenge, knowledge of film, and family ties to the Cotswolds provided far more depth to the tour and made it all the more memorable. This is a very adaptable and family friendly trip, but it is definitely a full day! We hope to come back again so we can spend more time in the area. One final note - make sure to try the Marshfield Farms ice cream, made at a local dairy - it's fabulous!

Very picturesque, the places were well selected and fortunately not very crowded. Little time to eat.

Very nice guide. Very informative and managed time well. Despite some circumstances out of our control, he was able to add the relevant time for our trip and cover all of the necessary sites to see. He was very thoughtful and very educated and very clear in how he spoke.
