100% recommend

This experience was fantastic! Our guide was Santiago and he was exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. He has even done some recent surveying of the area for his masters! His English was very good. I have never kayaked before but he gave us a quick lesson before entering the water and kept things at a slow and easy pace for us. We made a few stops on our way round to discuss the ecosystem and wildlife. This was so informative and a really nice touch to just experience how still and serene the lagoon was. Santiago took plenty of photos for us and sent them all over at the end. This was including the wildlife, so we could focus on enjoying this activity. We had a brief pause halfway round to have a snack and some water but the whole experience was well paced. We saw plenty of birds and some fish. We were given the option to kayak through the mangroves too which made the experience feel very unique. I would definitely recommend applying insect repellent, even if you are wearing trousers or a long sleeve shirt and we did get bitten a lot, even with longs and insect repellent on. We would definitely recommend this experience.

Vender No-show

They never showed up 15 minutes after the start time I finally got a message saying that they canceled the event. Said they needed a minimum of two people which I don’t remember being disclosed on any booking Unfortunately, now I am stuck out here, it’s too late to schedule anything else with another vendor, and I’m temporarily locked out of my Airbnb because they’re getting the locks changed this morning . The inconvenience of someone not wanting to come out and do the tour, even for 1 person, is not professional.

Risposta dell'operatore

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced that morning. Unfortunately, the tour requires a minimum number of participants to operate safely and sustainably. As the minimum was not reached, we made the difficult decision to cancel the departure and issued a full refund for your reservation. We understand that the cancellation affected your plans, and we regret the frustration this caused. Our intention was never to leave you waiting, and we are reviewing our communication procedures to ensure guests are notified as early as possible in similar situations. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for considering our tour.

Morning kayaking the mangrows

Santiago, our guide, is a biology major at university and an environmentalist. Besides knowing all about the mangrows, and mangrow nurseries he knew the hiding places for large birds . He kept a wonderful pace so we could enjoy the beauty around us. He entertained us with wonderful facts about the recent bridge from hotel zona to downtown. Great morning activity.

A must do if you visit Cancun, to see the area in a different way!

Another early morning adventure, this time was kayaking in a protected mangroves area, there was an small island in the middle where the crocodiles lay their eggs and rear their young there, needless to say you couldn't step foot on the island! The eco system is just marvellous there. Everything has a purpose. Didn't see any crocs near us (thank goodness) but saw lots of barracuda, stingrays, jellyfish, vultures, seacows, poisonous pufferfish and lots of other birds too. Our guide was super knowledgeable and friendly and even picked up rubbish that had floated its way into the mangroves!

Best water activity in Cancun

It was a delightful experience paddling through the black mangroves and watching birds and fish in the Nichupte Lagoon. Our group was only five people, including our guide, Jorge. It was challenging to find the meeting point, and it would be helpful to have clear instructions at the time of booking, preferably with a sharable pin for the benefit of drivers who may not be familiar with the marina space. Unlike many local tours, there's no pick-up at hotels. This tour is well worth the trouble to find. Jorge, fluent in English and Spanish, was extremely knowledgeable about the beautiful habitat and wildlife, and took us places you can only get to in a kayak. While it was a very hot day, it was much cooler among the mangroves. A concientious steward, Jorge collects floating plastics left by boaters and leaves the lagoon better than he found it. We spent a bit of time chatting and watching the gorgeous sunset over the city, and finished as dusk fell.
