Zoo di Asahiyama È lo zoo più a nord del Giappone, situato ad Asahikawa, in Hokkaido.La principale attrattiva è l'esposizione incentrata sul comportamento ("行動展示"), che permette di osservare da vicino le abitudini e le capacità naturali degli animali; tra le attrazioni più amate figurano le foche che nuotano in una vasca cilindrica, gli orsi polari che camminano sopra la testa dei visitatori e la popolare "passeggiata dei pinguini", un evento tipico della stagione invernale.È possibile ammirare aspetti diversi nel corso delle quattro stagioni. Stagno Blu Si tratta di un luogo panoramico dall'atmosfera incantevole situato a Biei, noto per la superficie dell'acqua che appare di un blu vivido.Si tratta di uno stagno nato casualmente in seguito ai lavori di prevenzione contro le colate di fango vulcanico del monte Tokachi; i tronchi secchi di larici e betulle che si ergono dall'acqua creano un paesaggio suggestivo e misterioso.L'intensità del blu varia a seconda delle condizioni meteorologiche, della stagione e dell'orario; anche il foliage autunnale e le illuminazioni invernali sono molto apprezzati. Cascata di Shirahige Si tratta di una cascata con un dislivello di circa 30 metri, situata a Shirogane Onsen, nella cittadina di Biei.Ha preso questo nome perché l'acqua sotterranea, scorrendo verso il basso attraverso le fessure della roccia in numerosi rivoli sottili, ricorda l'aspetto di una barba bianca.La cascata si riversa nel fiume Biei, dalle splendide acque color blu cobalto, offrendo panorami mozzafiato che cambiano con il susseguirsi delle stagioni.Si trova vicino allo Stagno Blu ed è una meta turistica classica da visitare insieme ad esso. Ningle Terrace Si tratta di un'area commerciale in stile baita situata all'interno di una foresta a Furano.Qui si trovano sparsi qua e là piccoli negozi che propongono creazioni artigianali di artisti locali — come oggetti in legno, vetri lavorati e articoli in pelle — offrendo un'atmosfera che sembra uscita dal mondo delle fiabe.È particolarmente apprezzato in inverno per il paesaggio innevato e l'atmosfera suggestiva, ed è noto anche come luogo ideale per scattare foto spettacolari. Got to see some pretty spectacular sights on a snowy day - a zoo covered in snow, a waterfall, lake and artisans at work. Tomi our guide and driver did a fantastic job making sure we were comfortable and beautifully navigated the snowy roads and road closures.

We decided to cut short the trip to just visit the zoo . One of the better designed Zoos I have visited, easy to walk around and good ambiance .

The zoo was fun. The penguins' march was very cute! The other animals were nice also. Blue pond had a wonderful view of the mountains but we couldn't see the pond, covered with snow and ice. We had a beautifully clear weather day!! Shirahige falls up the road was amazing. The river's water was blue so that made up a little for the blue pond. Frozen parts of the falls added to the beauty. Ningle Terrace was a waste of time. Too crowded and many stores were closed. Our driver, Tominaga-san, was the best!!! Answered all the questions I had and drove very safely and efficiently in the snow and ice. So driver rates 5 stars and tour sites 3 stars.

The company was very helpful in answering any questions I had prior to booking; moreover, seeing that we spoke English, they paired us with an English-speaking driver. Our driver, Andrew, was the best. He was attentive and patient; his customer service skills are A++. He was great at communicating arrival times throughout the day, being an entertaining encyclopedia of fun facts, and providing tips on both local and external destinations. When we accidentally left some stuff in the car, he was kind enough to drop it off at our hotel the next day. The company also has taxi services if you need it! They deserve good business.

Our driver Tommy was very punctual (always on time) and polite. He also has a great sense of humor. Whilst not a travel guide, he was able to provide a lot of useful information about the places we were visiting. We felt very safe with him at the wheels as he is a sensible driver with good road safety awareness. We were driving through icy roads and the snow covered countryside around Asahikawa. We would love to have Tommy again as our private driver for future trips around Sapporo.
