Our guide Otto was amazing and very knowledgeable about the area and Costa Rica in general. The horses were well trained and wonderful. I rode Dollar, my wife rode Shakira. And our adult children rode Gilly and Guasimo… the hike down and back was difficult but well worth it. We saw a Blue Morpho butterfly along the way. Just an amazing experience all around and Otto was the perfect guide and cut us up a delicious pineapple at the falls to give us some energy for the hike back up.
We had a great time, about 30 min in, the weather caused them to Cancel. All of the staff were fun and friendly despite the cancelation. Would love to try again if I get to come back! The kids were very sad this one didn’t work out!
We had an incredible day in Fortuna with Otto and Fernanda. The horseback ride offered stunning views of the Arenal Volcano, and the horses were gentle and well cared for. The highlight was visiting waterfalls flowing from the volcano—swimming in the clear pools was unforgettable. Otto and Fernanda’s knowledge of the area and their warm, personal touch made the experience truly special. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Costa Rica!
This Waterfalls experience was absolutely beautiful (although quite a bit of walking down countless slippery steps). The horseback riding was enjoyable minus the fact that our guide didn't adjust anyones saddle to ensure our feet and legs were properly fit, which made for an uncomfortable ride when the horses galloped (which was quite often). It left all 6 of us with bruises and wounds. Other than that, the scenery was beautiful.
My first time riding a horse. Incredible experience with Dani, a 10 out of 10 guide. I rode Loba and my boyfriend rode Tigre, two gentle and very "professional" horses :). Dani is an excellent professional; he made the excursion a fantastic and fun adventure. Totally dedicated to us, explaining everything in detail, teaching us about the wildlife, he went down with us to the waterfall and took photos of us in strategic locations. He left us plenty of free time and completely adapted to our comfort. He even offered to carry our backpack. He prepared a picnic with pineapple that was very refreshing and comforting since it was very hot. He was very attentive to me because I had never ridden a horse before, making it easier and more comfortable. He is truly a dedicated and friendly guy; it is a pleasure to deal with people like him. The horses were excellent. Without a doubt, I recommend it 100%. Pura Vida!!!
Nos emociona saber que su primera experiencia a caballo estuvo en manos de alguien como Dani. Los detalles que menciona: la paciencia, las explicaciones, las fotografías, la piña, la ayuda con la mochila y la atención constante para que se sintiera cómoda, hablan de una persona que disfruta genuinamente lo que hace y de la importancia que le da a cada visitante. Our guide was Cell. Super knowledgeable and cautious. Gave clear instructions, made sure we were comfortable and safe thoughout our experience. We hiked to the water falls. Option to take a dip. Then rode back, stopped at a Maleku Indian village learned about their history, opportunities to ask questions, view their handcrafts, available for purchase. Sampled their chocolate snacks and tried their pineapple drink. Then rode back to the stables. First time riding horse! It was overall an amazing experience!
For a first horseback riding experience, you certainly got the full Costa Rica experience. From reaching the waterfall to learning about the Maleku culture, it sounds like the day offered much more than you expected. We are especially happy to hear you felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey, which makes trying something new so much more enjoyable. Beautiful property. The trail the horses take you on up to the water fall is very scenic. Very well organized. Our guide, Otto, was charming, knowledgeable, funny and serenaded us along the way😊. The waterfall is well worth the hike down and if you can climb the rocks it is amazing. Great tour company.

It was organized, fun, and we arrived back exactly when they said we would. Instructions were clear from beginning to end and for someone who has never ridden a horse I felt very safe!

The visit was fantastic, and the horseback ride was sensational; the only more complicated part is the many stairs, but it is definitely worth it. Guasimodo was a perfect gentleman, and Dani is a wonderful and very detail-oriented guide, looking for animals to show us.
We had Otto as our guide for horseback riding. He was an amazing guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable. He also did a great job at keeping my daughter involved as well. Could not have asked for a better experience!
