The stories of the Japanese guides were easy to understand and interesting, and we had a good time. It's a protected area, so there were some animals that couldn't be seen or just looked small in the distance, so it was four, but the kids enjoyed it too. The English speaking guide was also very friendly to the children.
ご家族で弊社の野生動物観察ツアーをお選びいただき、ありがとうございます。
It is very easy physically because there is not much walking. The guides had lots of information and were very accommodating and enthusiastic.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re glad to hear you found the Arctic Day: Yukon Wildlife Half Day Viewing Tour easy and accessible, and that our guides made the experience enjoyable with their knowledge and enthusiasm. Providing a comfortable and informative tour for all our guests is very important to us. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again for another adventure in the Yukon!
The preserve is a fenced enclosure of animals not in the wild. But, we did see many of the animals. The driver and tour guide were EXCELLENT!!!
Thank you so much for visiting and for your thoughtful feedback! You’re absolutely right that the Preserve is a fenced sanctuary rather than a wild setting. Our mission is to provide a safe, spacious, and natural home for animals that cannot live in the wild. All of the animals in our care arrived as babies, were injured and unable to return to the wild, or were born and raised here—so they don’t have the skills needed to survive in the wild. While the animals aren’t free-ranging, they live on over 75 acres of land with a variety of natural habitats that reflect the environments they’d experience in the Yukon. We also choose feeding times during tours, which helps ensure guests have a chance to see the animals more closely, while still prioritizing their comfort and well-being. Of course, the animals can still choose where to be, so every visit is a little different! We’re especially happy to hear that your driver and tour guide were excellent. Our team loves sharing stories about the animals and helping guests connect with Yukon wildlife. Thanks again for visiting—we hope to welcome you back again!
Very nice activity to do on a cold winter day. I very much enjoyed and my family appreciated being picked up and dropped off at our hotel. My family was pleased of riding on the bus between stops to see the animals. Time management was very appropriate... Overall great experience.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and for the 5-star rating. We’re so happy to know your family had a memorable winter outing and felt well taken care of throughout the tour. Providing smooth logistics and a comfortable pace is very important to us, so your feedback truly means a lot. We appreciate you choosing us and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family again in the future!
I was impressed to meet all kinds of rare animals in the snow. The guide explained it to me in an easy-to-understand way and I learned a lot. Please be prepared for the cold. There were also small souvenirs. It's cold in the toilet, so let's do it in advance!
It is overpriced, the tour guides, although very nice are not local or Indigenous. Our tour guide was from Japan. Listening to her explain animals that she can barely pronounce didn't do much for the experience. It would have been better to have Yukoners. I was hoping that we would learn about the how the Indigenous have respect and shared the land with these magnificent creatures. You drive from enclosure to enclosure, walking the beautiful road through the woods, even part of the tour would have been much nicer. I am a Canadian so it's a bit sad that I know more about the moose than the guide. Too much money for what you got.
We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the tour to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Our tour guides are typically multilingual since we love to welcome guest from all over the world.
Interesting to see all the different animals. Relatively short drive. Guide was very knowledgeable. Note you can walk around the reserve on your own and don't have to take a guided tour but the guide provided some interesting information about the animals.
Thank you for joining us Sharron. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and learned about the Yukon's representative fauna.
This tour was made well, and we loved it that we were allowed flexibility in choosing the nights we wanted. We appreciated it that there were snacks and hot drinks inside a warm cabin while we waited for the aurora borealis to appear.
Thank you for joining our Aurora Viewing and Wildlife Viewing tours during your visit to Whitehorse. 🇨🇦
The staff were cheerful and kind, and I was able to efficiently look around the animals I wanted to see using the shuttle bus. I was especially lucky to see Lynx father and son. It was also very helpful to be able to pick me up at the hotel and drop me off at the nearby supermarket upon request. It was one of the highlights of my stay in Whitehorse. Thank you so much.
野生動物観察ツアーにご参加いただきありがとうございます。
Unfortunately the guides were not particularly knowledgable about the animals. Several animals were not seen, however if we had been given information about them as we saw their habitat, we would have benefitted.
Thank you for joining our Wildlife Viewing Tour. We are known for providing knowledgeable service on our tours and will use your feedback to improve.
