Nel tardo pomeriggio viaggio a Wagah Border per assistere all'abbassamento della cerimonia delle bandiere al confine di Attari-Wagah che è una pratica militare quotidiana che le forze di sicurezza dell'India (Border Security Force, BSF) e Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers) hanno seguito congiuntamente dal 1959. Il trapano è caratterizzato da elaborate e rapide manovre danzanti e alzando le gambe più in alto possibile, che sono state descritte come "colorate". È alternativamente un simbolo della rivalità dei due paesi, così come della fratellanza e della cooperazione tra le due nazioni.

Confine Wagah segnato ad una distanza di circa 29 km da Amritsar. dove puoi vedere l'intera cerimonia della parata Indo-Pak. La cerimonia della caduta della bandiera inizia spesso prima del tramonto (intorno alle 16:30 in inverno e alle 17:30 in estate). Non appena il momento della cerimonia sta per arrivare il suono di allegre canzoni patriottiche e la chiamata "Bharat Mata ki Jai" e "Vande Matram" inizia ad alta voce. I soldati di entrambi i lati avviano una parata estremamente veloce verso il cancello di frontiera, non appena le pesanti porte a circa 2 metri di distanza da entrambi i lati, il fante apre la porta ed entrambi i soldati si avvicinano, scambiano uno sguardo feroce e una minaccia a picco. Si stringono la mano l'un l'altro e iniziano a abbassare le bandiere a questo punto l'intera folla diventerà silenziosa e l'unico suono che sentiamo è il suono dello stivale del soldato.

Fascinating experience - really interesting to see the choreography of the ceremonies and the military posturing. Don’t forget your passport! And bring ear-plugs. It is LOUD
There was good communication 24hrs prior to pickup. Driver was on time, and at border walked with me to entrance to show me the right queue. Got away promptly after the ceremony.

The driver was right on time. Very friendly and gave us information on places to eat in Amritsar. I had American passport. So I received VIP seating. Well worth the money. I highly recommend.

What an amazing experience. A performance of joy, laughter and choreographed dance military style! We danced with the woman, cheered for india and clapped! Samarprett Singh our driver from northern travels Amrita was helpful, great history of the area and spoke great English! Must do and very safe and well organised.
