A fun stop going around the island of Cozumel

This is a fun, interesting, and educational tour. It’s not really about how chocolate as we know it, is made, but how the Mayans regarded it and how they made the chocolate they used. Our guide, Paty, was delightful. The only pressure we felt was the need to tip all the people involved in the different parts of the tour.

Risposta dell'operatore

We're sorry to hear you felt that way about tipping. We'll look into that.

Cacao history and tasting

I had a great experience learning about Mexican Cacao history. I was fortunate to have a 1-1 tour with Paty, who did a great job telling me about the history of cacao and also made some Mayan chocolate.

Lovely review for Paty, thanks!

Great Tour. Outstanding Chocolate.

What a wonderful experience that we did not anticipate! Eduardo gave us a most interesting tour of the chocolate-making process and we learned so much. The chocolate produced by this company is simply some of the finest I have sampled. If you visit, you must purchase more than you can carry because all of their delicious bars are sold-out online. When you're in Cozumel, be sure to visit this place -- it will surely be a highlight of your trip.

Worthwhile tour in a beautiful, natural setting.

The tour we booked was general admission, so we waited about 10 minutes for some additional people to join. Paty was an excellent guide who shared the history of the Mayan chocolate making process and importance with us. Delicious samples made the experience even more fun! It was about an hour for the total experience. Highly recommend! Bring a small cooler if you are not heading back to a space where you can keep the chocolate bars that you buy.

Paty is one of the best, you're lucky to have her as your guide. Thanks for the review!

Chocolate

This was part of a cruise tour. The tour was well-organized. They showed us the process, gave us samples, and we ended up in the gift shop. We found it interesting and worthwhile.

Went on a whim and glad we did

It was a lovely time, informative and interesting. Our daughter compared it to a field trip. Our guide Angel was so kind. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a something to do that isn’t a multi hour experience.

Risposta dell'operatore

Angel is great with kids, thanks for sharing!

Dairy-Free Yumminess

The mayan cocoa company was a great experience!! The museum smells like chocolate from the get-go, and Paty did an AMAZING job explaining how Mayans used to make chocolate by hand. As an individual with a dairy allergy, being able to have the chocolate was an added bonus!! Maria served us mole on a fresh tortilla which was also delicious. We were allowed to try 3 samples of chocolate when everything was said and done, and it was all delicious!

To see by the way

This is interesting from a historical point of view in relation to Mayan culture, but it does not show cocoa plantation or real chocolate making.

Risposta dell'operatore

Je suis désolé que nous n'ayons pas répondu à vos attentes ; la visite n'est pas présentée comme une plantation de cacao.

Great tour from Paty and world’s best chocolate!

Paty was the best tour guide! We loved the rich history she shared and how she made us feel at home while on the tour. She kept all of us engaged too! She also had the best local spot for lunch!

Risposta dell'operatore

We'll pass along this nice review to Paty, thanks for sharing!

I always learn something new!

Great place to go to learn about chocolate (my all time favorite)! I've been here twice now and they are always friendly. Because we arrived early, they took us right in and we had almost a "private" tour. I loved that they added the tortilla experience too. Our guide was Eduardo. He was very kind and allowed us to ask all kinds of questions. I loved having the chocolate cooking demonstration. Even better is that this experience didn't take an extraordinarily long time, so we went to the public beach right next door. Fantastic time!
