I joined Kiwi Horizons Travel for an Akaroa Day Tour from Christchurch and it was absolutely unforgettable! The scenic drive through the Banks Peninsula was stunning, with rolling hills, crystal-blue waters, and plenty of photo stops. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip so enjoyable. The private Akaroa day tour was a peaceful and personalised experience. Our guide took us to hidden gems off the beaten path – simply magical.
I contacted the operator on Jan 12, confirming my tour for 6 people via WhatsApp for Feb 26. . On the day before the tour I WhatsApp them and emailed them to confirm pick up place. When the day came and we waited for over one and the half hours and nobody show up. I WhatsApp them and call them, nobody shows up and no answer. Even the tour bus operators tried to contact them. Eventually I WhatsApp Viator support. They never showed up and they sent me text saying that his tour guide tried to contact me with a different number and claimed that I denied the tour. If that was me, why would I denied the tour? In the end, they tied to charged me and refused to refund. It looks like it is a scam. They may have outsourced to someone else and since we did not do the dolphin cruise, they did not want to conduct the tour. Beware of this scam. Cannot be trusted.we wasted a whole day as this was the only day we are in port.
