A wonderful morning wandering around the chaos and colours of the market with Lydia

Lydia took great care of us and made what would have been an EXTREMELY OVERWHELMING excursion enjoyable. You don’t “need” a guide to go to the market but we agreed that we would have barely scratched the surface on our own. I also appreciated how flexible Lydia was to accommodate me, the first two meeting times didn't work but thankfully some space was available in my itinerary on New Year’s Eve and she made it happen!! I initially booked solo but had two more ladies join me and she met us at our hotel, got us to the market (not something I’d want to bother trying on my own), ensured we were able to stop at multiple vendors to get items on our wish list, helped us haggle, gave us info about the market AND took videos of us to relive the experience later, finally she ensured we returned safely back to our hotel at the end. The market was in party mode on NYE and we had THE BEST time and agreed we could not have done it without her!! This tour had the best reviews IMO and we were not let down. Look forward to shopping with her on my next visit!

My tour guide was a very nice lady name Miss Lydia. She arrived at my hotel (Alissa) on time. She conducted my tour of the market in a very professional and pleasant manner. Lydia took me on a shopping adventure. She picked me up at my hotel via taxi and took me to the heart of the Makola Market. It was a feast for the senses. We whipped and slipped through various pathways and caverns to find some amazing items for me to take home. I ended the day buying artwork from various artisans and was delivered safe and sound to my hotel. Tip: it can be hot and crowded in the market. Bring water and wear good walking shoes. Don’t be afraid to haggle or ask for what you really want.

I had an amazing time at Makola market! Lydia was the perfect guide! I had specific requests such as lace fabric and wax print fabrics. Lydia repeatedly found what I was looking for. She knows the market inside out and smoothly was able to get me prices that the local pay. She had a lot of patience with me. I highly recommend Lydia as a guide for the Makola market. The experience can easily get overwhelming without an experienced guide like Lydia.

I booked this tour last minute and was in for such a treat. Lydia was my tour guide and did an amazing job. She was kind and extremely knowledgeable about the market. I let her know the items I was interested in and she made the process seamless for me. I would not have been able to navigate the way we did or get the local prices from Vendors had she not been with me. The market is massive and extremely crowded so its very easy to become disoriented. However, the experience is a must see while in Accra.
