If you’re wondering whether to book your Kenya trip with Africa FlashMC, stop thinking and just do it. Trust us—future you will be high-fiving past you for making such a solid choice. We just wrapped up a 7-day adventure across Nairobi, Nakuru, and the legendary Masai Mara, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Honestly, if this trip were a movie, it’d win Best Picture, Best Soundtrack (hello, roaring lions!), and Best Supporting Guide—shoutout to Edward, the real MVP. From the Giraffe Center smooches to 5 days of safari magic, this trip had it all. The vehicle was super comfy (think “safari limo”), the weather was made-for-Instagram perfect, and yes, we spotted the Big Five, plus a full supporting cast of zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, and more. Oh, and let’s talk about the resorts—every one of them was all-inclusive luxury in the wild, with food that made us forget we were miles from the city. We even had lunch in the middle of the jungle (zero lions at the table, thankfully) and our own sundowner moment like something out of a travel magazine. What really made this trip unforgettable, though, were the people. Edward, our guide and driver, wasn’t just knowledgeable—he was kind, humble, funny, and just a genuinely good human. That goes for pretty much everyone we met. The Kenyan warmth and hospitality? Next level. And yes—we visited a Masai village, danced a little, learned a lot, and walked away with major respect for this beautiful culture. Bottom line? Africa FlashMC nailed it. Smooth planning, amazing locations, epic experiences, and the kind of team that makes you feel like family. Kenya, you’ve set the bar very high.
Dear Krunal, Wow—thank you so much for this truly incredible review! Reading your words brought huge smiles to our entire team. We're beyond thrilled to hear that your 7-day journey with us across Nairobi, Nakuru, and the Masai Mara was everything you dreamed of and more. Your vivid storytelling had us right there with you, from the Giraffe Center kisses to those unforgettable Big Five sightings and the luxury of jungle lunches. We’re so happy that every detail, from the “safari limo” comfort to the resort experiences, met (or exceeded!) your expectations. A very special thank you for recognizing Edward, he’ll be overjoyed to hear he earned the title of MVP! Guides like him are the heart of what we do, and it's so fulfilling to know his warmth, knowledge, and humor helped make your adventure truly unforgettable. We're also glad you got to connect with the local culture and community—that’s such a rich and important part of any visit to Kenya. It means a lot to us that you embraced it so fully. Thank you once again for trusting Africa FlashMC with your journey and for taking the time to share your beautiful experience. You’ll always have a home here in Kenya—and with us. Warmest regards, Peter & the Africa FlashMC Team
To start with, Peter worked closely with us in coming up with a plan, with a lot of patience and with a focus to tailor make it for us. After arriving at Nairobi pickup was smooth and on time. John was our driver and he was always on time and was amazing in many ways. He was patient with our photography interest and was very patient in waiting for us to complete the shot we wanted. John was quite good at spotting animals and had a vast knowledge in identifying animals. he was also very knowledgeable about Kenya in general and answered many cultural questions with clear answers.. The resorts we were put was great for most part. Being Vegans, we feared about food availability but to our pleasant surprise we found many options in SOPA(MAsai Mara) and in Samburu village. The resort in Lake Nakuru(Lake Nakuru Lodge) was just average and the food was abysmal. if you guys have an option you can choose a different place and avoid this, esp if you want vegetarian/Vegan food. The seats in the land cruiser are very uncomfortable, so it might be a good time for them to upgrade the seats if not the whole vehicle. One other negative to capture here is that we were promised 2 binoculars in the safari vehicle and we had none and John kept saying he will find one, but until the trip ended this did not happen. make sure you emphasize this if you do not carry any binoculars. we had one that even John used to spot animals. Overall kudos to John and Peter for the amazing Safari trip.
Jambo Deepika, Thank you for choosing to travel with us on our 10 days Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Samburu Safari, and taking time to provide a feedback on your safari experience. We appreciate your positive feedback on your Family safari experience with us, from the planning of the itinerary to your Safari guide John who made this safari experience much more memorable. We have noted your recommendation on the accommodation in Lake Nakuru, and will share your feedback with the hotel and guests when booking. We have upgraded the seats of the Land Cruiser to more comfortable one. In regards to the Binoculars we allocate 2 per vehicle, and it is regrettable that they were not put in the vehicle on the day of the safari. Hopefully this shall not be your last Kenya holiday safari in Kenya, with us. We look forward to hosting you and your friend and family in the near future. Best Regards Flash Mc Tours Team
We booked a 6-day safari through the owner Peter. Despite our short-term booking, all our wishes were taken into account. All three parks, Masei Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli offered different animals and beautiful landscapes. No wishes were left unfulfilled in the lodges. However, we liked the conversations with our guide John best. We were allowed to learn a lot about the animal and plant world, but also about the land and people. Thank you for this great experience.
My family and I have just returned from safari in Kenya (children 20, 18 and 15). We did the six-day safari to Masai Mara, Lake Nauru and Amboseli. We had a driver called John (Mwangi) who was amazing! We can't recommend him highly enough. He was knowledgeable, competent, funny and patient. He was flexible to our requirements, changing our itinerary whenever requested - we felt completely safe in his hands. John showed us all the animals we wanted to see and taught us swahili and some kikuyu in the process. He had plenty of facts about all the animals we saw and always managed to make us smile. We chose Flash McTours because of their excellent reviews and because they are a local Kenyan company. Peter was very reliable ahead of the tour and efficient in responding promptly to emails and requests. The lodges in Lake Nakuru and Amboseli were great. We also chose the option to do a sunrise balloon ride (with champagne breakfast!) which was excellent. We visited a Masai village which was an eye-opening experience. We participated in the welcome dance (including the jumping competition) and had a glimpse of Masai village life.
We did the 6-day safari (Samburu-Nakuru-Masai Mara) and the experience was spectacular... we would repeat it a thousand times! This route seemed ideal, as it is enough to see most of the animals and allows you to see very different scenarios, with changes in flora and fauna among the reserves. I thought the cost/benefit of the tour was super good, considering it was a private tour for 2 people, with a very good guide and excellent accommodations with meals included. Our guide, Patrick, made us feel safe at all times, something really important when you are in a country where you do not share the language. In addition, he had an incredible ability to identify animals, even at great distances or between trees (in fact, thanks to that we could see a leopard on our first game drive!). Patrick allowed us to stay and watch the animals as long as we wanted (unlike others, who stopped for a short time) and was very flexible in everything, something we really liked and made us feel comfortable. We had a little downside with the car wheel on the 1st day, which was offset by the extra-long game drive the next day, so super good! Patrick really cared that we had an unforgettable experience. It gave us time to see the animals as much as we wanted (unlike others, who stopped for a short time) and was very flexible in everything, something we really liked and made us feel comfortable. The van was fine, with enough space to carry suitcases and ideal for looking during the safari, as the roof was raised. The Enterprise, Peter and Patrick gave us confidence, thanks to their Capacity (in covers) to inconvenience, something one does not know until they pass!
We were traveling in a group of 8. We did have fun and great experiences in Kenya. But the only disappointment we got was the tour agent arrangements and management by Peter was unacceptable. The only reason i rate 2 Stars instead of one star is because I appreciate that Peter did compensate us by refunding us as we requested (after a long argument) but our trip was partly ruined due to his bad arrangement is a fact. Many happened but i will only write the WORST ones: 1. We private hired a van (US$720) to transport our luggage so all of us can be comfortable in the safari jeep. We were promised that the van would be tailing us and going wherever we go. Unfortunately we only got our luggage at 1AM on our second day. When we moved from Nairobi to Samburu. We were tired from 6-7 hours dusty road trip + game drive. Could not shower until we got our luggage at 1AM. We were told that our luggage will be at the new resort in Samburu by noon, and then things changed to 4pm, and then by 8pm, and then eventually we got it by 1AM after we got so many lies by Peter. Thank God the receptionist David in Sarova Shaba Game Lodge Samburu was very helpful. He helped us to make call to Peter because we could not reach him by our phone. 2. Our accommodation in Masai Mara was changed last minute on the day of check-in itself. We were supposed to stay in Mara Sopa as per our itinerary but our guide John received a call saying that it's changed to Mara Legends Camp during our lunch break. Without asking our opinion or agreement, Peter changed it to Mara Legends Camp and worse of all, it takes another 3hrs plus road trip. And our afternoon game drive was affected due to the changes because we reached to Mara Legends camp around 6pm. It was John's first time to go to the campsite, we all had hard time looking for it. The road to Mara Legends camp was not tar road, it was rocky and dusty road. We were bumping in the car for 3hrs plus. 3. Hot air balloon date was postponed due to the change of accommodation. We had to wake up 4am on our check-out day. We were told that we can enjoy our champagne breakfast for an hour or two after we land from the hot air balloon. Unfortunately, due to the accommodation changes, we had to eat quickly and leave by 9am because we have a flight to catch at 3pm. From Mara Legends camp area to Nairobi airport takes about 8 hours because it take additional 3hrs plus road trip just like when we came. Peter refused to change our flight ticket to evening one too. We were furious because we were so tired, we woke up at 4am, did not enjoy our breakfast and then we were bumping in the vehicles for hours. 2 of our friends vomited. We were covered in dust because the vehicles have no AC, we had to open windows, but it was very dusty because it was rocky road, not tar road. We arrived to airport in horrible condition. Covered in dust. Luggage were damage due to the bumpy ride. Peter's excuse was saying that the inconveniences like the Mara Sopa was fully booked due to peak season. But we did not book this trip last minute. We booked in Oct 2018 and deposit was paid as per Peter's request. He had more than 9 months to arrange all these but it was disappointing.
Hello Reviewer, Thank you for the review, and sharing your experience wit us, as this are the corner stone to improving on our service delivery. I am happy to note that most of your tour was a success other than the mentioned areas. I wish to make a few comments on the same and give some insight, as below. 1) The second vehicle that was hired, to carry your luggage, was late to depart from Nairobi on your 1st day to Samburu... This was due to the fact that it had just gotten back from another tour, and had to be, service and repaired before departing, as that was a long tour ahead of hard terrein. There was heavy traffic that had built up, which I informed you, and also shared his number, so that he could share on his whereabouts, directly with you. Due to this delay, you were refunded the 1st day's fees for the hired vehicle by your guide. 2) The change in the accommodation for Masai Mara, was meant to be a good show of faith after the incident of the delayed vehicle... I upgraded your accommodation from a Standard Lodge (Mara Sopa Lodge) to a Luxury Camp (Mara Legends Camp) within the Masai Mara, in the hope that this would give you a better experience and also make up for the delay in Samburu. As for the roads, a section of it to the entry to the entire park is bumpy, on all sides of the park, however this has been an on going government project. 3) In regards to the Balloon Safari, when we changed the accommodation, we we had not been informed this would change the Balloon pick up, to the next day, and we should have communicated to you much sooner. The pick up for the balloon is usually between 04:00 am and 05:00 am, and this is with all the balloon companies. As for the flight, we could not get a later flight to Diani for all the members, with the airline we had booked you in, thus we retained the same booking. Some information about the safari - The distance, between different parks is long, and being a road safari, we can only drive within the approximate time considering, the few stops along the way and traffic. Also we have a speed limit, which we cannot go beyond. - A section of the roads to all the parks, and inside the parks are are not tarmacked. They are thus dusty and bumpy, and this being a safari, there is no way to avoid it, unless we take the local flights, to the different Kenya national parks and reserves. - All our vehicles have an A/C at the front, but not at the back... When the vehicles are converted to have a pop up roof top, the AC system is removed to give room for the pop up roof top. - We advised your team to carry soft bags, however some of the ones you brought were the hard suite-cases which got damaged due to the roads being bumpy, and as opposed to having the second vehicle carry the bags, some of you sat in the vehicle meant to carry the luggage and put the hard suitcases at the luggage area on top of each other, which caused the damage on the bumpy road in Masai Mara.
I was picked up by my driver and met with the tour leader to find out that I would be by myself for three days but who signs up for a “group “tour only to be told the opposite?! The tour started out a bit disappointing as it was an expensive trip with the expectation of it being a group tour. But I tried to make the best of it. First stop a 5 hour drive from Nairobi to Samburu then another 5 hour drive fr Samburu to Nakuru where I finally saw rhinos! The Sarova lodging is amazing and everyone should stay there! I also met a few people at the lodge to keep me company. My driver felt ill so I switched out to finally meet my tour group at the meeting lunch spot. Then we arrived to Maasai And I was told I my accommodation would change. I booked a luxury package and when I arrived to my new accommodation it ended up being a campsite which is not what I signed up or paid for. I had to rough it there for one night but then the next night I was able to move back to the Sopa lodge. At least that worked out. And the tour leader emailed me when I got back to the city and said he wanted me closer to the group but my lodge is only 10 minutes away from the group but I believe he should’ve asked first before changing accommodation. There is a bit of disorganisation but I was told thats what to expect in Africa as we were hopping in and out of vans and with different drivers et cetera. All the guides are friends so I guess that’s how it works. Then for the final day we are at the Maasai Village and I Was pulled aside to leave early and put in another van with another group that was going to Nairobi but my luggage was not there and I was told it was to follow me to the meeting spot which left me a bit and uneasy. But the group in that van was real nice and my luggage didn’t come to the meeting spot but like I said a lot of van hopping and disorganisation which is probably the norm. But I finally got to see the big five as I missed two out of five last time. And also a plus I left my torch at one of the lodges and the tour leader got it back to Nairobi and dropped it off at my hotel which was nice. But my suggestion is to research, research, research and make sure to communicate what your expectations are from the tour and hopefully it’ll all work out.
Greetings from Africa Flash McTours. Thank you for taking time out to post your review of Africa Flash McTours on TripAdvisor. Kindly allow me to clarify that at Africa Flash McTours, my team and I value all our guests and treat them all as valuable since they are the reason for our being. Services offered to all our valuable guests are also of the best standard. Any variation of the service standard is most of the time supplementary which the individual guest may have paid for separately. In regard to your observations, kindly find the below; 1. Initially when we booked your safari, we had prospects who were to join you, however they changed their safari to depart on October 09th. I should have communicated this, but since the tour was confirmed, I could not cancel it, thus I offered you as a Private Tour, for just you and the guide. When you reached out to me, and told me that, you wished to join a group I thus arranged you to join a group that was going to Masai Mara, and would fit within your schedule. 2. As for the change in accommodation in Masai Mara, I made the change to a camp that was much closer to where the other members were. Your lodge was a few minutes a way from the rest. I had asked your guide to inform you of the change, but I learnt this was not relayed in detail and should have followed up, and when you called and informed me of the situation, I called the lodge to re book you for the next night. My apologies for this. 3. We have reduced the number of group tours, as most of the tour are Private Safaris, and on the last day we had to transfer you to the vehicle that was departing back for Nairobi since the other group were still on safari for another 2 days. I will ensure that the details of the tour are as clear as possible in the future. I am glad to hear you had a lovely time though, and you got to see the Big 5. Please plan to your next safari with us and we shall ensure you have a memorable one. We at Africa Flash McTours always endeavor to exceed our guest expectations. The team and I look forward to hosting you again.
