Great experience. Laurel was an excellent boat and trip guide. We saw many whales. Also birds and seals. The snacks were homemade, healthy, and very delicious!
So great to hear you had such a fantastic tour! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us.
Our trip could not have been better. Our guide Dominic was super friendly and knowledgeable, with a genuine care for the nature and animals around us. We saw humpback whales, orcas, bald eagles, dolphins, etc. Was glad we selected the 6-hour trip as the extra time allowed to see orcas and more whales. Cannot recommend enough!
Hey Nicolas, Thank you so much for the recommendation! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your tour so much with Dominik an were able to see so many whales.
Our ocean tour with Campbell River Whale Watching and Adventure Tours was nothing short of magical. This wasn’t just sightseeing — it was a full immersion into the untamed wilderness of British Columbia’s coastal waters. From orcas and humpback whales to harbor porpoises, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, and even ancient pictoglyphs, every moment was a discovery. Our guide, Marty, was an absolute gem — not only highly knowledgeable and experienced but also warm, engaging, and truly passionate about the wildlife and waters he calls home. His storytelling gave context to everything we saw, from the orca behavior to the humpback lineage. Every sighting became part of a bigger story. We journeyed through beautifully named channels like Whale Passage (ironically, no whales there this time!), Calm Channel, and Surge Narrows, passing through Hole-in-the-Wall rapids and enjoying lunch near remote Stewart Island. We watched sea lions fishing in packs, flinging fish into the air as flocks of gulls and eagles swooped in for scraps — a wild, chaotic, and breathtaking spectacle of coastal life. And just when we thought the day couldn’t be more complete, Marty pointed us toward a spot where we were lucky enough to spot wild bears later that day — an unexpected gift that made our trip to Vancouver Island feel truly legendary. The boat was safe and comfortable, perfect for all ages. Marty made everyone feel included and excited, from the youngest passenger to seasoned nature lovers. Marty joked that we should tell the world if we had a great time — so here it is: this was one of the best wildlife tours we’ve ever done. If you're visiting Vancouver Island, don’t miss this experience. And if you’re lucky enough to get Marty as your guide, you’re in for something truly special. Highly recommended for families, solo travelers, and anyone who wants to feel the wild heart of British Columbia.
Wow! Thank you so much for this thoughtful and detailed review of your tour. I am so glad to hear that you had such a fantastic time on the water with Marty. We will ensure that he sees this!
The 6h zodiac tour exceeded all expectations! We saw killer whales, humpbacks, bald eagles, porpoises, sea lions, seals and even a bear! Our guides Becks and Lexy went out of their way to give us the best possible day. Their explanation was very interesting too. Lunch is very tasty too!
We are happy to hear you had a great time with Bex and Lexie! It is great you got to experience so much of the wildlife that truly makes our area wonderful. We would love to welcome you back sometime!
Our tour guide/boat captain, Becca. was very knowledgeable & interested that her passengers had a great experience We saw whales, porpoises, tide pools & had a magical experience with hundreds (?) of eagles fishing.
Thank you! We're thrilled you had such a special day with Bex and enjoyed the amazing wildlife—especially the unforgettable moment with the eagles.
Excellent tour, breath taking views. Brad our tour guide was brilliant, informative and laid back making it an interesting and relaxing time. Plenty of Whale spotting and saw other animals along the way. Thorougly recommend.

What an amazing day we had. Our guide was very knowledgeable . We had a delicious lunch . Saw lots of humpbacks and sea lions . We like the ethos of this company who are carbon negative and give back to conservation. Would definitely recommend . Thank you for such an unforgettable experience .
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your trip. We are very proud to be carbon neutral/ negative and glad it was a key takeaway for you.
Fabulous day, beautiful scenery, lots of humpback whales. Sadly no orcas - gutted! - but still a lovely day and a fabulous guide (thank you Jarek!)
Would give a 0.5 if possible. Had a sad experience. I understand nature is not guaranteed but on a 7.5 hour trip we had 10 minutes of wildlife. Saw no bears, no orcas, no birds except a couple of seagulls. We saw a humpback flip his tail once. We saw 3 Dalls Porpoises for 5 minutes. The guide was very nice but the trip was extremely disappointing. Came from Australia after looking at reviews. Wanted desperately to see Orcas. We spent most of the time listening about how rain was a problem, and the tides being an issue. I know there is a waiver about nature being unpredictable, but would have been good for tour to use local knowledge and partnerships to find some wildlife. Massive disappointment. The tour is called Whale Watching and Wildlife. We didn't see it. I got sick of looking at water and trees.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your trip didn’t meet your expectations, especially after traveling all the way from Australia with hopes of seeing our incredible local wildlife. We understand how disappointing it can be when nature doesn’t cooperate, despite our best efforts to make each tour memorable. Our guides are passionate about providing an informative and enjoyable experience, but we know that not seeing the wildlife you were hoping for can overshadow that. While we do our best to utilize local knowledge and partnerships, nature's unpredictability is something we all have to contend with, and unfortunately, we can't guarantee sightings. On the day of your tour, we experienced unseasonably wet weather, which unfortunately impacted wildlife activity. We did our best to make the most of the conditions by extending the tour by an hour and a half, hoping to increase your chances of sightings. Additionally, we coordinated with a network of other boats and our own operators, including three other tours on the water that day, to maximize opportunities for wildlife encounters. We’re glad to hear you found the guide pleasant, but we’re sorry that the unpredictable nature of wildlife left you disappointed. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ll continue working to enhance our tours. Safe travels and thank you for your understanding.
This trip was worth every penny. We based our trip to Campbell river around our plan to join this tour and it did not disappoint. As well as seeing breathtaking coastline, bald eagles, impressive houses, sea lions and having a delicious lunch, we were wowed with multiple whale sightings. Our fantastic guide Jack knew so much about the area and was proud to share it all with us. When we approached the whales, he gave them a safe distance, and we got breathtaking views of them playing, diving and breaching. Memories to last a life time. Thank you. The boat was safe, clean and confortable, and there was even a toilet on board. The lunch provided was fresh and delicious, and catered well to my daughter’s allergies.
Thanks so much for this awesome feedback! We hope to welcome you back sometime 🌊🐳
