This was an excellent excursion. I have done numerous whale watching tours, in a numbers of countries, and this was the best. Abby and Megan were super hosts, informative and great fun. The boat was ideal, the duration (2h) ideal and we got to see more than 8 different whales. Fabulous.
This far exceeded our expectations. It was a rainy, cold morning, but the whales didn't care - they came out and put on a show for us. We saw several humpback and orcas. Captain Ian knew what he was looking for and the naturalists on board (Katie, Ali and Amanda) were amazingly knowledgeable and excited to share what they know with the group. The boat had a protected cabin where we could stay dry while on the way out and back in - and once in the area of the whales, the captain expertly guided the vessel close enough to see well, and yet maintained a respectful distance. The crew also offered warm drinks and even had extra clothing for those who did not come prepared. We had a great time visiting with other passengers, learning about the whales and the ecosystem of the Salish Sea. I would highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We are glad to hear that your trip exceeded your expectations. The whales certainly don't mind the weather, and it sounds like you had an incredible encounter with both humpbacks and orcas! We will be sure to pass along your kind words to Captain Ian, Katie, Aly, and Amanda. They are passionate about sharing their knowledge of the Salish Sea and its wildlife, and they will be happy to know they helped make your experience so memorable. Thank you for joining SpringTide and for recommending our tour. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure on the Salish Sea soon!

Outing was amazing. Saw tons of animals, and our guide, Katie, seemed to recognize most of them by sight. She was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and happy to answer any and all questions. Perfect day. Captain was great and answered questions. Megan the volunteer was so nice and helpful. Great trip.

We had a wonderful morning out to sea and the weather was perfect, the seas were calm. We did not see any Orcas, but we did see over 15 different humpback whales in the Salish Sea. Katie, our guide, was excited because she identified two whales she had not seen yet. We were able to observe an elephant seal, a sea lion, and several harbor seals while on our cruise. Additionally, the boat is made for 65 passengers but we had 25 so the small size enabled everyone to get great views without blocking anyone else.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are glad to hear you enjoyed such beautiful conditions on the water and had the opportunity to observe so much incredible wildlife. While orca sightings can never be guaranteed, seeing more than 15 humpback whales, along with an elephant seal, sea lions, and harbor seals, certainly makes for a memorable day on the Salish Sea. We are happy to hear that Katie helped make your trip special. She is passionate about marine life, and it's always exciting when she encounters whales she hasn't identified before. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!
