Description
Passez trois heures à profiter de Whitby lors de notre sympathique excursion guidée d'une journée en petit groupe au départ de York, ainsi qu'à explorer le pittoresque parc national des North York Moors. Vous aurez trois heures de temps libre dans le port de pêche de Whitby lors de ce voyage, pour voir Whitby Abbey (inspiration pour les livres Dracula), visiter les attractions Captain Cook, magasiner des Whitby Jet ou de la mode gothique, déguster Fish & Chips du célèbre Magpie Café ou simplement profiter du port animé et du front de mer – le choix est à vous! En plus des arrêts photos dans les landes, vous vous arrêterez également au célèbre Kilburn White Horse, au bourg de Helmsley (avec ses cafés pittoresques, ses boutiques et son château médiéval) et aux beaux villages Anglais traditionnels de Goathland (lieu de tournage de Heartbeat et Harry Potter) et de Lealholm (avec ses tremplins de l'autre côté de la rivière Esk). Profitez de l'attention personnelle de votre Guide lors de cette visite en mini-autocar en petit groupe, limitée à 16 personnes.

Itinéraire
Notre premier arrêt est à la colline de Kilburn White Horse, à la limite du parc national des North York Moors, où votre guide vous racontera comment il a été sculpté dans la colline en 1857.
Nous nous arrêterons ensuite dans le bourg pittoresque de Helmsley où vous pourrez voir le château médiéval, explorer les boutiques pittoresques ou tout simplement prendre un bistrot Yorkshire Brew dans l'un des cafés: à vous de choisir!
Après Helmsley, nous nous dirigerons vers Hutton-le-Hole pour nous rendre au cœur du parc national des North York Moors, en passant devant le Lion Inn du 16ème siècle sur Blakey Ridge (le point culminant des Moors) et Ralph's Cross. dans le pittoresque et pittoresque village de Lealholm, dans le Yorkshire, pour admirer les tremplins de la rivière Esk - une excellente occasion de prendre des photos! C’est ensuite un court voyage à Whitby. Votre guide vous racontera également l’histoire de la station balnéaire en bord de mer. Il vous expliquera également les principaux lieux d’intérêt que vous voudrez visiter.
Lorsque vous arriverez à Whitby, vous devrez faire un bref arrêt à la statue du capitaine Cook et à Whalebone Arch sur la falaise ouest, puis vous déposer au port ou à l'abbaye de Whitby si vous souhaitez commencer votre visite sur place pour éviter d'avoir à grimper 199 étapes! Vous aurez trois heures de temps libre à Whitby, avec des options pour visiter la dernière attraction de Whitby, The Endeavour Experience (l'une des deux répliques grandeur nature du HM Bark Endeavour existant), le Captain Cook Museum, à l'échelle Bark Endeavour. Faites une excursion en bateau autour du port, admirez l'abbaye de Whitby (source d'inspiration pour Dracula Books) ou explorez simplement les magasins et le marché de la ville balnéaire et découvrez Fish & Chips au célèbre Magpie Café. À vous de choisir!
Vous arriverez dans le village de cartes postales de Goathland (lieu de tournage de «Aidensfield» dans la série télévisée Heartbeat et de «Pré-au-lard» dans les films Harry Potter), où vous pourrez explorer les lieux de tournage ou simplement prendre une crème glacée. le magasin du village - à vous de choisir!
Nous quittons Goathland pour notre dernier arrêt afin de profiter de la vue imprenable sur le Hole of Horcum avant de rentrer à York.

We had the best day out doing the tour around the moors and Whitby. Mark, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and helped the time spent on the bus between destinations fly by. He went out of his way to give us as many unique experiences as possible which was greatly appreciated.

We had a great day on this trip from York to Whitby. Marc, our guide, was just perfect: friendly, funny and passionate about his area. He was able to make the trip come alive with his anecdotes, local stories and explanations always interesting. The 1st stop a little short and the pace a little steady, it still allows us to see the beauties of NorthYork Moors National Park. However, we had a little more time to enjoy Whitby’s unique atmosphere. The landscapes crossed are beautiful and give a beautiful glimpse of the beauty of Yorkshire. We took the option on site of the train which was extraordinarily. This is an outing we recommend to anyone who wants to discover the region without having to worry about road or logistics. Our friendly guide Mark was great, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We saw/did a lot but had plenty of time for coffee/bathroom stops along the way. I enjoyed standing in the heather looking across the moors, Whitby was beautiful, and the steam train was a memorable experience. We were a group of 16, Mark's information was very good, his driving was safe and the tour kept to time. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

This was a wonderful tour from start to finish. Mark, our guide, was exceptional and went above and beyond. His knowledge of the area was incredible and he made it all interesting. The views were out of this world, culminating in a wonderful visit to Whitby. I can't recommend this tour highly enough and I would even do it again it was so good.

It was a scam, there was no tour guide o tour despite having paid and having received a confirmation. Still waiting for the refund and compensation, which who knows if and when will happen.
Day trip to moors & Whitby with this company was simply the best from start to finish. All on time, lots of information from our amazing guide Ben who didn't stop giving us all the history from this amazing part of u.k. Loved the steam train ride to Whitby, Recommend the fish n chips & mushy peas. Met some good people visiting from U.S.A Recommend to everyone, probably not suitable for children.

Mark was a great guide! He starts out by asking everyone’s name and where they are from, which creates a friendly atmosphere right at the beginning. He does a superb job in describing villages along the way as well as much information about the Moors. Appreciated his tips on restaurant options in Whitby. He gets an A++!

Me and my son took this trip with Mountain Goat Tours on August 30th. Our driver was John and I think we got so lucky. John made the trip with his humour and facts that he delivered throughout the day. I wish I had recorded all the history he relayed, so knowledgeable. We had the best weather too with sunshine and blue skies. The Mercedes passenger van was v comfortable even when going over the more bumpy trails. Highlights included the Moors and Whitby Bay and thanks to the recommendation from John we ate our fish and chips at the Magpie Cafe, award winning. Lovely! Highly recommended trio and hope you get John as your guide!
