Nous visiterons les plantations de café où nous apprendrons les techniques anciennes utilisées par les experts pour produire certains des meilleurs cafés du Costa Rica et du monde entier. Le processus minutieux impliqué dans la culture, la récolte et la torréfaction du Golden Bean sera ensuite illustré
Après la visite du café, nous continuerons vers le parc national du volcan Poas, où il y a un changement notable de température et une végétation exubérante de la forêt nuageuse. Le volcan Poás est un stratovolcan actif de 2708 mètres (8885 pieds). Le cratère du volcan mesure plus d'un mile de diamètre et 1050 pieds de profondeur. Il a éclaté 40 fois depuis 1828, y compris en avril 2017. Au volcan, nous aurons le temps de profiter de l'impressionnant cratère principal avec ses fumerolles de soufre et de marcher sur un sentier menant à la magnifique lagune de Botos tout en découvrant les différents écosystèmes du parc.
Après Poás, nous continuerons vers le jardin de la cascade de La Paz, où nous dégusterons un déjeuner buffet (classé 4 fourchettes par le Conseil du tourisme du Costa Rica) qui comprend plusieurs sélections de plats traditionnels du Costa Rica et bien plus encore. Aux jardins de la cascade de La Paz, nous traverserons des sentiers de randonnée entourés d'une forêt tropicale luxuriante. Ici, nous apprécierons les rivières blanches, les chutes d'eau spectaculaires, les oiseaux, les papillons, les singes et les colibris. Il existe également des expositions éducatives sur les animaux, telles que la volière, l'observatoire des papillons, le jardin des colibris, le serpentarium, l'exposition des chats de la jungle et l'exposition des grenouilles. C'est définitivement une visite appréciée par les amoureux de la nature de tous âges.

volcano wasn’t visible due to clouds which was sad, but otherwise a fun day. The coffee tour was super cool and the food was great overall. The waterfalls were beautiful, but the facilities included a “sanctuary” that felt more like a zoo. That said, it was still cool to see the animals. Edgar was punctual, friendly, and informative.

If all tours were this good, I’d probably never plan my own vacations again. The “Poás Volcano + Coffee Plantations & La Paz Waterfall Gardens” trip from San José was honestly the best tour I’ve had in years. Our guide Ronny was wonderfully knowledgeable and somehow managed to be informative without ever sounding like a walking textbook. The timing at each stop was spot on: enough time to explore, take photos, and admire the scenery without doing that awkward tourist speed-walk back to the bus. Even breakfast and lunch got a perfectly reasonable amount of time, which felt like a rare and beautiful gift. Well organized, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish — I’d absolutely recommend it.

Road was closed to volcano, so had to pivot, still did the rest of the tour though. Highly recommend. Our guide Edgar, was top notch and made it even more memorable! Would do this tour again.

Very Nice experience, I loved the waterfalls .just to give you the heads up there's lot of walking required in this tour especially at La Paz where there's lot of going up and down the stairs to get to waterfalls

Our trip had to be adjusted slightly since Poas was closed. But the trip was still 100% worth it! Our guide was SO knowledgeable and interactive with the group. Learning how coffee is processed was so eye opening and La Paz Waterfall garden was great. There were A LOT of stairs to get to the falls, but for those who couldn't manage the stairs they had a plan for an alternative tour ready to go. Overall this was a GREAT way to end my trip.
