The Monreale cathedral is a must visit monument, but more importantly the guide, Cetty was able to make it alive for us.
Touring the cathedral at Monreale with Cetty is an experience we will never forget. She is both passionate and knowledgeable about the amazing artwork and history of this special church. We had no idea the entire Bible is expressed in the mosaics of this one building thru the handiwork of countless artisans of different faiths and ethnicity. It was a true pleasure to have Cetty guide us through the stories we know well told thru these mosaics.
Thank you Tina. It was my pleasure to meet you both.
We had a private tour with Cetty of Monreale Cathedral. We had a family group of 6. We took a taxi up to Monreale from the city center of Palermo, about 25 minutes. Getty is an excellent guide who brought to life the times and circumstances of the construction of the cathedral, as well as the artistic and cultural significance of the place, in the context of the history of the country. Her knowledge of details of various kinds is significant. This is an excellent and worthwhile experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day with Cetty touring the Norman Palace/Palatine Chapel, Palazzo Conte Federico and Monreale! Cetty is extremely knowledgeable, engaging and offers thoughtful commentary into Palermo’s rich history, art and architecture (she’s actually an experienced architect!). Her love for her wonderful city is palpable and contagious. We highly recommend!
