The tour was delayed an hour and a half. Such an inconvenience. When we got to the tour place very confusing no direction given.
Good communication with provider about meeting place. Our guide was lovely Italy lady Nicolette who was very knowledgeable in all things about the Vatican City. The queues outside the Vatican are very long so this was ideal to get inside quickly. The museum is very big with lots to see but the guards usher everyone through quite quickly so there isn’t much time to take everything in. 33,000 visitors everyday so you move quickly through. So people complained that it was rushed but it’s a 3 hour trip and a big place to get through. Maybe get a private tour or on your own if you want more time. The museum is the first bit that you are kind of rushed through to get to the Sistine chapel which is the showpiece really. To see Michealangelo’s paintings is amazing. So beautiful. You then enter St Peter’s basilica which is also an amazing place, just fabulous! You can spend as much time here as you like as that’s without the guide. In my opinion if you can just see the Sistine chapel and then the basilica, then they are the best places. I would have rather spent more time in those than the museum and would have rather had a tour with information about the basilica as that was spectacular!
Nice tour, group of 20 or so. Not that impressive of information and guide was difficult to understand. Not worth $250 a person.
The tour operator has no problem breaking the Commandments while offering tours of the Vatican. We had a tour scheduled September 10. They changed the tour due to an event a St Peters. No problem. Start time 2:15 pm. Gave us a new location to meet. No Problem. LIE #1 : AFTER the tour started they informed us we would need to EXIT the Vatican, go back to their office. Look above this is not on the description. I would never have booked it if I knew. They kept it from me. LIE #2 - The office is only 5-6 minutes away. It is 1.1 km from St Petes to the office!!! Google it yourself. Then another 1.1 km back to the Vatican. I informed them my father is 84 and this is an impossible 40 minute round trip walk for him. This is a lifetime trip for him and he can not make the walk out and back. I even offered that I would make the walk and he can wait and we can pick him up on the way back. They insisted we all come back. Completely impossible. I spoke to multiple people to make it work, but they would not. I asked for a refund as the tour was not as described. They refused. I called Viator and explained. They went to the tour Operator, multiple times. Lie #3 - The tour operator told them WE TOOK THE TOUR!!!!!!!! so there is no refund. Bottom line is they make money by selling tours of God's House while breaking his rules. They broke Commandment #8 "Thou shalt not steal" by keeping our money and not providing the tour we booked. And Commandment #9 "Thou shall not bear false witness" by saying we took the tour. We know where these people are headed. Book somewhere else.
We appreciate your detailed feedback and are sorry to hear that your experience did not align with your expectations. To clarify, the change in tour logistics on September 10 was due to a scheduled event at St. Peter’s Basilica—an occurrence entirely outside of our control. These events can sometimes affect access and require last-minute adjustments, which we always try to communicate as clearly as possible to minimize inconvenience. Regarding the mid-tour route: while we understand your concern, the return to our office was necessary due to Vatican ticketing protocols in effect that day. Our staff did their best to manage the situation according to the venue’s requirements, not based on internal decisions. The walking distance is standard for Vatican-area tours, and we regret that it posed difficulty in your case. We offered the same arrangements to all participants equally. As for the refund request: our records indicate that the tour commenced as scheduled, and that members of your party participated in the guided portion. In such cases, full refunds are not applicable, as services were rendered. We always aim to be fair and transparent in handling disputes, and we stand by the information we provided to Viator. We fully respect the significance of a visit to the Vatican and understand how deeply personal and meaningful such an experience can be. While we may not agree with your characterization of our team’s intentions, we do take your comments seriously and will continue to improve where we can. Sincerely,
Most incredible experience! So grateful I got to do the tour what an amazing experience woohoo! Can’t wait to go back again!

We had a great experience at the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. It was very hot and very crowded and the tour guide was amazing at navigating the spaces and finding a spot to move us off to the side while she discussed the space. She was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad your guide made the experience enjoyable despite the heat and crowds. Hope to welcome you again soon!
The title is MISLEADING - It was listed as Vatican- not the Vatican MUSEUM. The guide was great but we stood and walked for hours - that should also have been included! I never saw the Vatican during my short visit to Rome - I had hoped that this tour would be perfect. The Sistine Chapel was amazing and the last part of the tour. Had it been listed as The Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel I would have chosen a different option.
I was blown away by this tour. You could tell our guide loved her work and was dedicated to sharing her knowledge with us..

We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you on another tour in the future! Best, City Rome Tours.
The tour guide was not very good at communicating. He was hard to hear and did not provide facts for each room. I found myself listening to other tour guides nearby.
We had a fantastic time on our tour. Sammy looked after us well and then our tour guide Riccardo did a great job educating and entertaining us for our time through out the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. The pace and amount of information was perfect to allow us to enjoy our time and still understand and remember many of the stories and facts after we were back home. Would recommend.
