Votre guide égyptologue expérimenté commencera votre exploration de la Cisjordanie de Louxor en venant vous chercher à votre hôtel ou en croisière sur le Nil dans un véhicule climatisé. Votre première destination sera la célèbre Vallée des Rois, un site qui revêt une grande importance historique. Dans la vallée, vous trouverez un total de 63 tombeaux, chacun racontant une histoire unique du passé antique de l'Égypte. Les tombeaux royaux de cette région sont ornés de représentations complexes de la mythologie égyptienne, fournissant des informations précieuses sur les croyances de cette époque.
Ensuite, vous continuerez votre voyage vers le magnifique temple de la reine Hatshepsout, également connu sous le nom de Deir el-Bahari. La reine Hatshepsout, dont le nom signifie « la première des nobles dames », aurait joué un rôle essentiel dans l'établissement des premières routes commerciales en Égypte. L'architecture impressionnante et l'importance historique du temple en font un site incontournable.
Votre visite vous mènera ensuite aux Colosses de Memnon, deux statues colossales taillées dans le grès quartzite. On pense que ces statues gardaient autrefois l’entrée du temple commémoratif d’Amenhotep. Le tombeau de Toutankhamon (KV62) a été découvert en 1922 par l'archéologue britannique Howard Carter dans la Vallée des Rois près de Louxor, en Égypte. Il s'agit d'une découverte archéologique majeure, car le tombeau de Toutankhamon était l'un des seuls tombeaux royaux égyptiens antiques retrouvés en grande partie intacts. Toutankhamon était un pharaon de la 18e dynastie qui a régné entre 1332 et 1323 av. Il monta sur le trône alors qu'il était enfant et son règne fut relativement court, seulement environ 9 ans. La tombe contenait plus de 5 000 artefacts, dont le sarcophage et les cercueils de Toutankhamon, des meubles funéraires, des chars, des vêtements, des bijoux et de nombreux autres trésors. Beaucoup de ces objets se trouvent désormais au Musée égyptien du Caire et constituent des attractions majeures pour les visiteurs. Le tombeau était remarquablement bien conservé par rapport aux autres tombeaux royaux pillés au fil des siècles. Cela a permis aux archéologues d’acquérir un aperçu sans précédent des pratiques funéraires égyptiennes antiques et de la culture matérielle de la période du Nouvel Empire.

Nasser was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about Egypt and its history. This was our first private tour and he put us at ease and looked after us well. He even accommodated a very short notice change of pick up location after we discovered our river cruise boat had docked somewhere other than expected. Ahmed is a good guide who knows his subject. He is patient and helpful and kindly took pictures of us at the different places of the visit. There was also a visit to a shop for a demonstration of stonemasons and we do not push you to buy.
