Dans la partie nord-ouest du lac Sevan, sur une étroite péninsule rocheuse, se trouve l'un des exemples les plus remarquables de l'architecture médiévale arménienne - le monastère de Sevanavank. Il a été fondé en 874 après JC par la princesse Mariam.
À 13 km au nord-est de Dilijan, dans un endroit confortable, vous trouverez le complexe du monastère Haghartsin («Danse des aigles»). Il a été construit entre le 10ème et le 13ème siècle et possède trois églises.
