Myeongdong est un lieu incontournable pour les touristes qui visitent la Corée. Myeongdong est situé au cœur de Séoul et célèbre pour ses achats d'articles de beauté à la mode, de mode et de plats savoureux. Il y a une église catholique coréenne "Myeongong Cathedral" au milieu de. Cela fait 200 ans que le catholique a été introduit par les savants coréens de Confucius comme une étude occidentale. Mais c'est devenu une religion et réprimé par le gouvernement. Ainsi, de nombreux catholiques ont été exécutés et martyrisés tout au long de l'histoire coréenne. C'est 103 canonisé et 124 béatifié. La première communauté coréenne a commencé sur le site de la cathédrale de Myeongdong. Elle fut construite en 1898 comme première église en brique de style gothique. Sous l'église, il y a une crypte pour 7 saints nommés Mgr Imbert, P. Chastan, le P. Maubant, Antonio Kim Sung-woo, Francisco Choi Gyeong-whan et deux martyrs inconnus. Tous ces 7 martyrs ont été exécutés à Saenamteo en 1839. Le sang des saints a nourri et fécondé l'Église catholique coréenne.

Korean Catholicism is truly unique in the world. Koreans discovered and built their own faith through books, without any missionary's help. Over 100 years of persecution then created a faith deeply rooted in sacrifice and endurance. Finally, the Church stood at the center of Korea's democracy movement, fighting for justice alongside the people. I’m proud of myself for booking this tour. The guided tour of the Myeongdong Cathedral was a very special experience.
