In July, we organised a wine tour with Francisco Texugo from Badger Tours for ourselves and six of our friends. We’d chosen a total of four of the region’s many vineyards. Francisco picked us up in his comfortable van and our perfectly organised tour began… We enjoyed a marvellous day visiting four very interesting destinations. 🍷🥂 The highlights were definitely a visit to Adega Horácio Simōes (and the wonderful Teresa Barrigas), where what is arguably Portugal’s finest Moscatel is produced, as well as the small but exquisite Dupó winery with its fantastic white and red wines. To round off the day, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the seafood restaurant O Farol with a magnificent view of the enchanting bay of Portinho. Rating: Highly recommended – definitely worth trying! 👍 Many thanks for this unforgettable trip, dear Francisco Texugo! The next tour in September is already being planned…☺️🫶

Super tour guide in Francesco. Some interesting places and beautiful scenery on his tour and lots of local information. The vineyard was a lovely experience. Also our group used his services for golf days and airport pickup and drop. His family and staff were excellent also. Would highly recommend his business Badger Tours and will be delighed to use his services in future visits.

Beautiful discoveries during this wine tour masterfully led by our guide Francisco. We very much appreciated the choice of wine estates. Moving from the large secular estates to the smaller ones, discovering step by step the different winemaking processes. Must do for an authentic stay in Sesimbra.

Well if you are in Portugal especially close to Lisbon you cannot go wrong if you check out Badger Tours. I started chatting with the badger tours team well before our holiday started. I was looking for a transfer from Lisbon airport to our destination in Sesimbra. Luckily I this wonderful family run business that were very friendly and full of information. We booked out transfers and although not the cheapest were amazing we had major delays when we arrived in Lisbon but we kept in contact with our driver which we had been given details in advance the vehicle was beyond all expectations comfortable large enough for my group and all our luggage. And so to our first tour we elected to take the private winery tour at 09.00 Tuesday morning Fransisco (owner)arrived prompt warm and welcoming the winery tours on there own were amazing taking us to three different winery's and all different in their presentation the first we was left with a small group and was a very well organised tour and historically informative. We had never done anything like this before me and my partner both love wine but wouldn't call ourselves experts in the least however at the end of this day we had grown a new interest. At the end of the first winery tour we were sat separately from the larger group and met by Fransisco once again we felt very special as we say at our own private table and tried a selection that was bigger and more varied than the others top marks for this as it made the tour all the more private although more expensive than another wine tour Badger provide I thoroughly recommend you take the private one. Because not only did we visit another two winery s we also toured the area around taking us to some glorious scenic views we stopped of many times to get out and look about Francisco all the time guiding us and information flowed constantly historically and up to date he was a lovely guide as well as one of the nicest people we have met while touring around. This was one of two guided tours we had with Francisco the second was to see the royal palace in Sintra again another well organised private tour in one of his lovely vehicles Portugal is a lovely place and cannot recommend Sesimbra as a beautiful destination once a quite little fishing village that is Portugal's best kept secret the coast line is to die for we also did snorkeling and went out to spot some ocean wildlife. Our week was filled with activities with Badger Tours they never let us down and we felt like honered guests when in their care. Our winery tour ended at 18.30 dropped off back at our apartment 9 hrs later tired relaxed and a little merry 🍷. Thankyou Francisco and to all that read this review even if you do not go to Sesimbra but would like to see around Lisbon and neighbouring areas you could do no better than give Badger Tours a try....I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

This was an amazing experience! Francisco is very knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful with everything you might like to see or do. This was my 2nd tour with him 2 days in a row and I really don’t think I could have known or covered as much without his guidance. I recommend anyone coming to this area to take this tour.
