Description

First, Maria is an enthusiastic advocate of the island of Aigina. Her love for the sites, the history, and the culture is infectious. Best of all her knowledge of the area, her ability to communicate the history, and connect Aigina in the developmental context from Mycenea through the classical period to the Byzantines, then the Venetians, finally to the unification of Greece as an independent country. Highly recommend her guidance to the highlights of the island (or any other tour she may offer).
very nice place, exotic.
What a wonderful experience! Maria, our local tour guide was both equally proud of her island and passionate about its history. We were enthralled with her knowledge of the archeological sites we visited and the narrative that she wove around significant events in the history of the island. Maria appeared to be in no rush to end the tour, only being mindful of our return journey and her desire for us to explore the township of Aegina constrained her. I'm sure, had we had more time, she would have continued :) Maria's recommendations for other points of interest (pistachio gelato!) were spot on also. An awesome day! Thank you so much Maria!
Maria is wonderful and the island of Aegina beautiful! She has an extensive knowledge of Greek history which she shared in an engaging fashion. The temple of Aphaia is a site not to be missed and the central town and port very charming with nice shopping for those so inclined. Maria altered the standard itinerary to meet our request for some hiking and we were able to take in wonderful views of the island, sea and mainland beyond. Overall an exceptional experience-highly recommend.

Maria is a wonderful guide! I hired Maria to lead a private hike to the Ancient Olive Grover on the island for a Women’s retreat I was hosting on the island. She is so knowledgeable having grown up on the island and just truly loves the land, culture, and history. As an English speaking individual knowing very little Greek, Maria is a captivating storyteller as she shares the stories of the land. Highly recommended her, such a lovely soul. We hiked at sunrise in June and it definitely was getting hot by the time we hiked down. She brought plenty of water and even offered to carry our water in her bag. In every way she went above and beyond as a host.
