Very good, polite and helpful driver.Excellent driver thoroughly enjoyed our tour.Would recommend driver Asfan
We had a wonderful experience. Our guy was Hassan. He was very helpful and took us to all the right places. He was very kind and patient with us.
Our driver showed up 35 minutes late. Then, he didn’t speak at all. He pulls into a rest stop 2 hours into the drive without saying a word. I asked him if we were stopping for a break and he says yes. So, we all get out of the car and go to the bathroom. We come back to the car and he isn’t there. We walk around the rest stop and find him eating a meal. If he just said, hey, we are stopping for 20 minutes and I’m going to eat, we would have known to take our time and maybe grab something. Then, we get to Hiroshima, he rushes us around, takes us to the museum and says meet me at the car when you are done. I don’t know the city or have any idea where he parked, so I ask him to drop me a pin. He does. We finish, go back to the car (which had 2 seat belts that didn’t work) and then he drives us to a ferry terminal, helps me buy the tickets (apparently the museum and ferry tickets were not included as I had to pay for both) and then tells us to be back in 90 minutes after we get lunch. Not a lot of time. I had mentioned to him that I really wanted to try the oysters from Hiroshima, and he tells me “no problem, when you get to the island, all the restaurants have them.” Only issue is when we get there it is 2:45 and 90% of the restaurants are already closed for lunch and don’t open again until dinner. We find a place, scarf down our food and get back to the ferry terminal. We get in the van, where then proceeds to stop for gas a half mile away from the terminal. Why he couldn’t have done that while we were on the island is a mystery to me. Then, on the way back, he stops again for food and makes us wait. The pièce de résistance was that 5 minutes before dropping us off at our hotel, he stops again for gas instead of doing so after dropping us off. Overall we got to see what we wanted, but for $900, this was not worth it at all. What we got was basically a $900 Uber with a driver who thought more of himself than his passengers. He was not Japanese, and it was quite evident with the way he treated us. He seemed totally disinterested in doing his job and provided us with virtually no information.
We recently went on a family tour of Hiroshima, and it was a deeply meaningful experience for all of us. Our guide was incredibly kind and respectful, giving us the space to explore independently while still being available to answer questions and offer insight when needed. It was the perfect balance — we never felt rushed or overwhelmed, and we appreciated the gentle pace, especially as we took in such an important and emotional part of history. The sites we visited were moving and beautifully maintained, and having the freedom to reflect at our own rhythm made the day even more impactful. As a family, we came away with a deeper understanding of Hiroshima’s legacy and a renewed sense of peace and appreciation. We’re truly grateful for the experience.
It was our best day in Japan! Mohammed was wonderful! He was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. We went to Hiroshima and Miyajima. He was able to point out great places to try local foods in Miyajima. He was very respectful talking about Hiroshima. He guided us through trains, ferry, and a boat…which would have been impossible for us to do without him.

A must see experience. Our guide Mohamed an excellent English speaking, was kind and patient. He made our day. The island at Miyajima was such a pleasant surprise. He had great stories to tell about the area. Hiring a private guide is the only way to avoid the long lines and crowds. I would ask for him again

Terrible experience. ! This was not an informative private tour but just a silent delivery service. And the worst driver ever, who had to be repeatedly told to slow down after reaching 140km’s while weaving between other cars. My advice, take the train. 4.5 hrs from Osaka to Hiroshima and 7,5 hrs back. !
I don’t normally write a negative comment but this has to be one of the worst “tours” I have had with Viator (& other tour companies). When a company touts a tour that has an English speaking driver, it doesn’t mean that this is experience is guided by a reputable tour guide. It just means that the driver speaks with some English fluency and not a tour that is guided by an English speaking tour guide. The 4 hour trip by van down from Osaka to Hiroshima was, for the majority of it, done in silence (the exception was that our family had conversations that had nothing to do with the tour). The van was not cleaned prior to our tour and had to stop (3 mins into the journey) for gas (tank was nearly empty). The driver was taking a call 11 times during the time we were with him, even after I said it was unacceptable to be on the phone instead of providing a tour. To the company: there must be something you can do to monitor the operators (the tours of Osaka and Kyoto were fantastic) who do not offer credible, informative tours. I have used Viator for tours in Japan and throughout the US and while this is the first time I’ve experienced this poorly delivered tour, I am now thinking about switching companies. I suggest not posting tours that do not provide a tour experience.
Milky way tours is the company that made our visit in Hiroshima and Miyajima worth the long drive. The company provided a great driver/guide that made our travel special. His understanding of the history made the visit extra special. He was a great companion Overall the experience was superb.
