This is the first China tour and also first time cruising in China. CRUISE SHIP The cabin is big and comfortable and easy to move around the ship. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. 3 buffet meals a day with the same people for 11 days (except for some meals during land tour on the second week) is abit tiring and so we get to know some passengers better then others. No complain about the varieties of food on the ship, only some days are better then others. We did not prepare enough reading materials to make up for the time we have nothing to do on board. Of course there are activities prepared by the ship. LAND TOURS Every day the land tours are planned very well and with the help of Mr Gan (CTC) and Isabella (cruise ship co-ordinator assigned to our group), we managed to complete all the land tours which were not easy as most sites have many many steps and not easy for old folks like us. Both Mr Gan and Isabella always make sure that we safely complete the tours and bring us back to the ship. A TASTE OF CHINA CULTURE I have watched many videos on youtube about the behaviour of locals act in crowded places and it was of no surprise that the locals cut quene at crowded places of interest. And most locals smokes everywhere we went. And we were surprised that there are very few sitting toilets in public areas which is a problem for us even though we were raised in the squatting toilets environment when young. LAND TOUR MEALS Most of the restaurants offers sumptuous meals (at least 16 dishes) really pain to see alot of waste of food as we are given only about 45 mins to eat and at least half the food is left untouched. On the 12th day of the tour, we departed from the ship and was given a land tour of Shanghai, the last part of the tour to XINTIANDI is really a waste of time as most of us just sit around. I feel the itinerary for this day can be arranged better. A clean and comfortable hotel is enough and do not need such high class hotel with a such a big room for the final stay in Shanghai. We did not expect much from this tour and we did enjoy the tour and met very nice people on board. We greatly appreciate Mr Gan's effort to brief everyone on the land tour (esp the difficult terrains so that those who decide not to go will stay on board) and with Isabella, we are able to complete all the land tours. And we are so very lucky with the weather too. Speak to the staff at CTC, Singapore to find out more about this tour and if you pay S$1,000 extra, you get to stay on level 5 & 6 and of course all the meals are different from level 3 & 4. We paid about S$5,00/pax for the trip and on top of it you have to prepare... RMB 600/pax for the Cruise service fee n RMB 455/pax for the guide and driver S$39/pax for CTC tour director
