Votre visite au Sri Lanka serait incomplète sans une visite culturelle à Sigiriya Sri Lanka. Sigiriya a une longue histoire qui remonte à environ 477 CE. Selon les anciennes lectures de Culavamsa, l'ancienne citadelle rocheuse de Sigiriya a été choisie par le roi Kashyapa pour établir sa nouvelle capitale. C'est un simple rocher qu'il a choisi pour construire son palais royal, puis transformé en une construction époustouflante. Même aujourd'hui, la planification derrière cette architecture ancienne reste non révélée et nous garde hypnotisés. Le roi a construit son palais sur ce pilier rocheux de 200 mètres de haut et a orné les surfaces de fresques vibrantes. L'entrée en forme de lion lui donne le nom de Sinhagiri, également reconnu comme Sigiriya. Aujourd'hui, il reste l'une des attractions touristiques les plus visitées et des sites du patrimoine mondial du Sri Lanka. A pris 5 heures pour aller sur le site de Sigiriya.
Dambulla et Sigiriya sont les meilleures voisines. C'est le prochain endroit à visiter après une visite culturelle à Sigiriya Sri Lanka. Le complexe de temples rupestres de Dambulla, le stade international Rangiri Dambulla et le site funéraire préhistorique d'Ibbankatuwa sont les principaux points touristiques de Dambulla. Les points forts de Dambulla se poursuivent jusqu'à la plus grande série de montagnes de quartz rose d'Asie du Sud et la plus grande forêt de bois de fer appelée Na Uyana Aranya. Il a fallu 4 heures pour rentrer à l'hôtel.
