Fantastic very personal/private and professional tour with a wonderful local. We had an informative and absolutely beautiful tour of the countryside and the lovely and welcoming winery Casa Emma. Would highly recommend this tour with Antonio.
thank you very much 🙏🏻
Mario was a wonderful tour guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a slight problem at the beginning of the tour. Mario could not find part of our party that he was picking up. But it was remedied and it did not ruin our day. Mario took us to a winery Casa Sola. We ended up getting a late start on our tour because of the mixup. So we missed the tour of the winery. We did not miss the wine tasting! Maria was our sommelier at Casa sola. I really don’t care for red wines. I am a sweet white wine girl. I ended up drinking two of the three that were poured for me! Maria taught us how to tell if a wine is a good wine. She taught us about looks, smell and taste. I have had similar education on wines before. However Maria had more information than I had gotten before. It was very interesting. They gave each of us a charcuterie board. And we would take a bite of meat or cheese and then drink the wine. Delicious! It was a wonderful experience. Then Mario took us to two small towns to look around and shop. I feel that some of the driving in Italy is crazy but I felt totally safe with Mario. He drove very safely and was very entertaining. On the way back from the winery he stopped at several beautiful spots for us to take pictures. And to see a beautiful views of Florence. He stopped at one spot for us to see a statue that Michelangelo had sculpted. If you get a chance to take a tour with Mario you won’t be sorry.
Thank you very much!
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! We had a great guide and a great driver. The drive itself is beautiful- and between the traffic in Florence and the windy roads in Chianti very glad we weren't driving ourselves! We had a brief stop in Montefioralle then about a 40 min stop in Greve. The square isn't too big so just enough time to poke around and taste some wine at an enoteca if you feel like it. We then drove to a beautiful winery to taste 4 great wines with a very knowledgeable host (and got to see the sunset!) and went back to Florence. The only hiccup was that the tour company doesn't have any sort of sign so it was a little confusing to try to figure out exactly who we were meeting- but the meeting point was very accurate. All in all I would highly recommend this tour and am very glad we chose this versus one of the big tour buses.
Thank you Sarah for this great review. We are really pleased you've enjoyed it. Hope to see you sson, back in Tuscany.
We visited in September 19....beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Learnt a lot about Chianti Classico and enjoyed tasting!
Thank you for this nice review. Hope to see you soon in Tuscany.
Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. The drive and vineyard was beautiful. We had lots of time to explore and drink more wine at the last village we went to. One of the best tours I have ever done.
Thank you for this review. We are a small business and always try our best. Hope to see you all soon. Grazie
My parents and I booked this tour and our guide was Irina and driver was Simon. Very friendly and interesting people! We had a great time on the road to and from the wineries. We got to taste several different kinds of wine paired with cheese and other appetizers. Great selection of wine and locations! We had some amazing pictures from that day. Thank you Irina and Simon!!!
Thank you so much for writing these words of your awesome experience. It's nice to have such reviews. We will tell Simon and Irina.
The winery we visited, Casa Emma, was fantastic but the rest of the trip was not. We spent 45 mins at the winery and the vast majority of the rest of the time in the van with a guide who was hard to hear and understand. The remainder of our time consisted of 10 mins walking around a small village and 45 mins in Greve which was barely enough time to use the washroom, visit the meat market and get some gelato. I strongly recommend visiting Casa Emma but with another tour.
Unfortunately this is a very strange review. Has 45 minutes a town of only 10000 people is enough. Grazie
Views were great and the hostess was lovely and informational. The tour guide that drove the bus was also very informational during the entire drive out to Tuscany. I fell asleep (drank plenty of wine) so I cant say if he spoke much on the way back. a worthwhile excursion. a little difficult finding the bus, but the company assisted on the phone until we got there.
It was a beautiful day. Thank you to guide Giacomo for your experience during this tour. It was interesting not only the wine tour, but also the tour of Chianti itself. I hope I see you again. Thank you.
I booked this experience with my wife. Great choice, Giacomo gave us a lot of information and history of the region, we stopped for pictures, very accommodating tour guide, nice. He created a personalized tour for us. I wanted to stop in 2 wineries out of the beaten route. Our highlight of the trip!
