Hugo was really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He saw that I was lost at the temple and he came and offered me and my partner help. He also recommended a great sushi place that we ended up going to 3 times. Highly recommend spend time with him :)

Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine was by far the favorite shrine I have visited in Japan and that’s thanks to Hugo, who made this experience so informative and fun. He explained in details all the rituals that are performed and provided a deeper explanation of the beautiful traditions of the place. This tour was excellent, provided a chance to understand the different meaning of the shrines, statues and temples around you while getting to explore. It was great to have a tour guide to explain the history, traditions and give context to the shrines and temples in the Kyoto area. It was much better to have a tour guide rather than just seeing the sights and not having any background information. Yugo was a great tour guide, had excellent knowledge and brilliant English. Yugo spent an extra three hours of his own time to make sure we saw all he promised. On the way to the sights we saw parts of the city with no signs of Westerners. It was cherry blossom season, maybe the busiest time of the year, and Yugo moved us with calm and cheer. We talked as friends, learning about each other’s ways.
