Cette activité est organisée par la communauté locale (Local Empowerment). C'est un effort de conservation du patrimoine à travers le tourisme. Alors que nous garantissons que cette expérience est authentique. Kotagede est une forme de kampung qui était un quartier du palais de Mataram Islam au 16ème siècle. Il a un concept de Catur Gatra Tunggal qui se compose de mosquée (religion), marché (économique), palais (gouvernement) et place (public). Au fur et à mesure que le temps passe, à partir de l'ère royale, du colonialisme, de l'indépendance et de l'ère moderne, l'architecture, la vie culinaire, la vie sociale et la sagesse locale se distinguent par leur singularité et font désormais partie du cadre culturel de la population locale. à la fin, vous pourrez profiter de la pause-café dans une maison javanaise de rukunan.

Notre guide local vous rencontrera et vous guidera pendant le tour. Il vous amène à des arrêts tels que le tombeau des rois avec une robe spéciale. Dans la zone du cimetière se trouvait également Masjid Gedhe Mataram (la plus ancienne mosquée de Yogyakarta). dans cette zone, vous verrez également les noms de printemps Sendang Selirang
explorer les maisons traditionnelles habitées par les locaux et profiter également de la collation traditionnelle. Il y a un terme, « rukunan ». Il décrit une condition de résidence javanaise où les propriétaires ont un accord pour faire de la partie de leur maison un moyen qui relie d'une maison à l'autre, afin que chacun puisse y accéder avec certaines conditions. La chose intéressante est que le statut de propriété n'appartient pas au Sultanat.
Pasar Kotagede est un marché local et le plus ancien du sud de Java. Vous y trouverez de la nourriture locale, des collations, des fruits, des légumes, des herbes, des ustensiles de cuisine et bien d’autres. Vous pouvez voir le processus de fabrication du jamu (boisson aux herbes traditionnelles) et l'essayer. La chose intéressante est que vous verrez et expérimenterez comment les locaux négocient sur le marché traditionnel.

go to Kotagede with lawang pethuk was an amazing cultural experience. The area is rich in history and offers a glimpse into traditional Javanese life. From exploring historical sites and traditional markets to meeting local artisans and local people, every part of the tour was interesting and enjoyable. Kotagede is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to experience the authentic side of Yogyakarta
It was my first trip to Jogja. To know the place better, I signed up for a walking tour in Kotagede (a 16th century capital of the Mataram Sultanate) Danis was my guide. We visited the oldest market, Pasar Legi, she bought me traditional snacks and drink (jamu) to try, shared with me the uniqueness of the mosque there among others. We walked through their narrow alleys with interesting stories shared by Danis including a visit to the silversmith. I get to try on the javanese attire before visiting the royal mausoleum too. Danis also brought me to visit the former royals' bathing area, their well water including a visit to her home too at Between 2 Gates. The drink prepared by her mum warmed my body too. A recommended tour to take to better understand the former history of Jogja besides the current city as it is. Thanks, Danis!

Our guide, Upik, was very enthusiastic about sharing the history of Kota Gede. The tour was interactive as we walked through a few stops. Just keep in mind sometimes the weather might be too hot or rainy, so please equipped yourselves. All in all, would recommend if you like first hand historical experience.

Nice journey. Start from a taste of typical food, feel the sensation of the house pocong sumi, stroll the old town hallways, tell about the majesty of Kotagede, visit to see silver crafts, and the history of Watu Gilang.
